Glad we got a goal back at the end. Shame we lost at Swindon otherwise the impossible might have been on.

No shame in how we applied ourselves today, we made a decent Hull team look inferior for most of the 1st half. Alas, their quality shone through in the end after inspired substitutions that we never really reacted to tactically. Case of well done 'Ull, well done Sheff U. Hope they win it now.

We didn't just turn up, we contributed. For 45 minutes we had them wondering what the fuck was happening. Credit to Bruce for changing it around, we couldn't handle it. But we fought and never gave up. Combining blades spirit with a desire to play good football. Play like that and not many in League One will be able to hold a candle to us next season.

I'm proud to support this team and this manager. They have in a single sweep shown that Sheffield United aren't just about backs to the wall defending and chucking percentage balls in the box. We played and we played well. We pressed them so well in the first half they had to change it.

3 goals scored so we can't blame the attack for today's defeat, we we're crying out for a hero in defense but nobody turned up.
A good game for the neutral, but an uncommonly poor game at the back for us..

I saw it as a fabulous game Sandy. They all turned up. Every goal was well taken. They hardly got a sniff in the first half.

Great tactical changes, changed the game and it took us 20 minutes to adapt to a Premier League team on the front foot.

We did adapt and got the goal back. The final goal was unfair, only seconds left, we had to throw everyone forward.

A bit unfair that. I thought most of the goals were well worked by a more technically skilled team. Only one I felt we could have done better on was the 2nd equaliser.

Hold your heads high, Blades! Hold your heads high.

Especially if, like me, the Braypril beard is coming off tomorrow.

I think we lost our organisation quite a bit in the second half and I think their 2-2 goal was a real blow for us. We lost a bit of aggression and struggled to close them down, working as a unit in midfield. This made individuals trying to compensate which left gaps where in the positions they should have kept, i.e. for their third goal watch Doyle push up without getting a tackle in, then Harris does the same and Collins is too slow to move over sideways.

Their first equaliser was cruel as it was their first effort, so to get a second just after the break messed us up mentally I think. We lost our shape and were punished as Hull improved a lot after the break.

Really need the Prince to step up now. Brayford was exceptional and with Harris on the other side, will help to rip League one apart with his runs.

Come on the Prince, the cash will come back when United storm the table next season.
I still dont think any millions will arise and I feel the prince will remain a fucking phantom forever.

The team and the manager turned up, the blades nation turned out, even the ticket office nailed it .... i wonder when the tea toweled one will show some real coin ...

Agree totally although I think we maybe worked so hard first half our legs had gone and we should have brought subs on earlier. said before it started i wish we'd got fryatt and i wish we could get a natural goal score like him next season. only thing i would fault us on was our central defence looked well unfit at the end.

I don't think Brayford actually had to give away the corner either. I was waiting for him to cushion the header back to Howard and then he didn't.

Had Flynns first touch been better at 3-2 down it may have been a different story as well...

That performance coupled with our unbeaten run will already put us psychologically ahead of the opposition next season.

No 3rd division manager is going to fancy going up against a Clough team next season.

Bring it on.

To score 3 goals at Wembley and still lose. The Blades way!

Losing 1-0/2-0/3-0 and barely getting a shot on target the whole game is the blades way shirley??

Leading twice and scoring 3 goals at Wembley isn't the blades way i'm used to!

Anyway, silver lining, we don't have to pay a fortune to watch us play boring boring Arsenal and lose on penalties.
Hull get that dubious honour! And you can bet Arsenal will cock up 4th place, to knob Hull up for a place in Europe too.

You know those first and second goals today? They were all the result of the investment from the Prince. Baxter, Scougall and Brayford would never have signed had it not been for investment in the club. You could argue that were it not for HRH, we wouldn't have had Nigel Clough either.

I really don't know who people have been expecting us to bloody sign given the FFP constraints on the club.

I thought of that bit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on Sunday morning, where McMurphy tries to rip that sink out of the floor and chuck it through the window. He fails, and the other inmates who have started to idolise him are a bit crestfallen. "But I tried didn't I?", an exhausted McMurphy wheezes to them, "Goddamit, at least I did that"

Never been more proud of the team and us as fans. Celebrated 3 goals which was fucking amazing, but the reaction of the fans when they scored their 5th to stand up as one and cheer the lads had me filling up.

Couldn't beleive the walk down wemble way to get the tube back after, we'd lost but we were only ones signing.

Well done blades, days like that make it all worthwhile for me.

I'd expected you to put some blame on the player that was marking Fryatt? ;-)

Having just seen the highlights, I see that for some reason Brayford just lets Quinn go in to meet the cross for the 4th goal. Was he trying to play offside?. Poor decision if so. I don't recall Quinn being renowned for his heading and a robust challenge from the bearded one would probably have saved the goal.

:) I wasnt aware who was marking Fryatt until I saw the ITV highlights that I recorded but to be fair to Fryatt's marker I would have thought it would be best to be in line of Chester's shot but unfortunately Chester mis-hit his shot which turned out to be a "very lucky pass"

You are right, a bit sloppy from him. But the way they cut through us before the cross was another example of us losing organisation in the second half.

We did Bergen. My suspicion at the time in the ground was that the substitutions that they made were as much about getting Huddlestone on the ball (hardly at all first half) as they were about getting two up front. Obviously the Fryatt goal so early did flatten the team a bit, but after that we took some time to alter slightly to try and reduce the amount of time Huddlestone was getting on the ball. By the time we did, it was too late. Gave them the fright of their lives though!

Also, Huddlestone and Livermore the difference. You pay your money, take your chance and hope that you get the quality you pay for. Did with those two on the day for Hull, but remove them from the Hull team and there was nothing to tell the teams apart.
