Considering the shit it seems them lot at South Barnsley are in financially, desperate to generate funds from speculative schemes and with an inflated squad that they can't afford, are there any players in their squad worth a punt? Any RSCB or box to box midfielders that aren't getting a game and are worth a punt on?!

Ex pig players have generally done alright for us in the past.

A realistic signing, and I have no idea what kind of nick he's in, would be Lewis McGugan. I believe he's been on trial with Cardiff.

Hutchinson - Great player who gives everything. Fortunately, he's injury and angry-prone
Hooper - always rated him.

Their owner apparently has the cash (unless he's borrowed it, which he insists he hasn't) but they've reached the FFP limit, with a shed load of players who aren't playing on expensive contracts that they can't get rid of.

Being fair they have some good players - be worth bidding for a couple if it wouldnt release some funds to ease their financial fair play restrictions to sort out thier lopsided squad.

Imo they'd be as well cutting their losses on Rhodes and using the 6-8m proceeds elsewhere

All of them are way off our wage scale including McGugan who managed a couple of U23 games last year including the game they lost against us. I read on here that he was way off the pace and our 17 year old Regan Slater was far superior.

I thought it was closer to £18k? There was talk his wages had increased four fold from Barnsley, where he was on around £4.5k.

No matter how much I hate them Hooper and Kieran Lee are class. Totally unrealistic tho.

The one player I do think we might have a chance with us Winnall (if he lowered his wage demands). When you talk about players with something to prove... he's it. Would be destined to bag in both derbys.

Forgetting wages the one I'd have is Winnall and I'd think he fits the pr9file of the type of player Wilder likes, young with plenty to prove. If they paid his contract off and we got him on reasonable wages he'd be a good addition.

Why on earth is there a thread on Wednesday players!? The only ones we would want are in their first team squad and they aren't going to come here, nor could or would we want to afford their wages!
