Wednesday ‘firm’

All advertisments are hidden for logged in members, why not log in/register?

Apparently police advice to pubs was to shut at 8:00 (so I was told in the other Red Lion - the town one). I'd imagine most of them thought "fuck that" given it was a Friday night.

Saw the direct opposite when Hertha kicked off at the Westfalenstadion.

How long would someone get in Bramall Lane wearing a red and white striped balaclava and battering stewards? About 30 seconds before they’d be pinched and would probably get 2 years in Donny nick and a lifetime ban.

Why does this thread even exist? (mostly I expect) grown adults discussing "firms" and debating who is harder? It's fucking stupid, it's a sad echo of an age that we have (thankfully) long since left behind, and it has no place in the modern world, or the modern game.

Anyone seriously talking about this shit and discussing it in complimentary, or even less than appalled terms needs to grow the fuck up.

I started it because I saw a heavily policed group of Wendy being moved up Sharrow Lane and my morbid curiosity led me to ask if anyone had seen them act up. Just coz I’d never seen that and also wondering where they were taking them, would they provide taxis and tell them to bog off, that sort of thing. The rest of the thread wandered a bit from wondering if they could handle a strong Thornbridge ale to Germans.

My experience is chiefly Hamburg, though I've been to a few away matches, and the Hamburg police haven't got the best reputation (Hamburg is a bit of a rebel city). The UK is a bit different to Germany, it doesn't have the fan rivalry in the same way. Clubs, or rather fans, create very strong rivalries against certain clubs, but with other clubs there is either very little animosity or even friendship. Their derbies are pale imitations of ours, especially as most major teams don't have equal rivals nearby. It means that the police approach games differently, depending on who's involved. One good thing is they tend to concentrate out of sight, around the corner waiting for the call (although in full riot gear), so you might not notice them if there's no trouble.

They turned up behind the kop one year I remember that haha not a pub in sight for a reaction. Seen em give a good go on Bramall lane at the garage one year though too tbf. Those days are done though, guaranteed arrest now, completely pointless.

The same two I remember.. the former was Collins and co and the latter is on Facebook somewhere...

I agree but my point being will the SYP let it happen as they're making all these rules but never seem to catch on with this?

Police like things happening these days, all on camera, makes them look like they are doing a worthwhile job when they nick everyone weeks after.

It definitely happened, they came down from Norfolk Park and arrived almost bang on kick off and attacked a few older boys.
 
Uncle Susan drunkenly took 3 of their top lads on after the 4-2 down Chapel Walk, and said it's the best battering he's ever had.

I was walking along cherry street as they were taking pot shots at anyone that appeared to be scared of them.

There as probably around 5-10 of them. It wasn’t the only mob as far as I understood at the time but I only saw the one group. They didn’t have a pop at me, but I was probably not in their demographic anyway.
