Palace expect to unveil Webber at a press conference next Thursday and the move is expected to become permanent when the season ends.

As said in the other thread, I hope this doesn't happen.

Webber has a part to play in pushing us up the league when fit, and it will be a travesty if he goes. As said before.... where do the sales stop?

When Robson has completely ripped the heart from the club.

Not a fan of Webber really.

All show no end product for the majority of the time.

For a broader view of the club at the moment, remove 'for pace' from the end of that sentence...

Twenty one goals since we signed him is not really enough for a striker. We'll have to see if the players we get in are, as Robson reckons, better than the ones we are letting go.

Webber has always promised so much but not really delivered.

Although his goal at Cardiff will always be remembered.

:)

been injured a while though hasnt he?

Annoyed to see Webber leave I know he can appear to be a 1 trick pony but he always seems to pop up with that vital winning goal. I know he isnt a 10goals plus a season goalscorer really despite his good spell at Watford but he is a goal poacher and able to nab the cheeky winning goal. Ashame to see him go and no surprise to see Warnock top the list to bring him in.

Can't agree. He wasn't given much of a chance to shine in the PL.

He did well in his first full season for us, and has shown this term that if given the chance he will be a decent striker for us.

Shame about injuries for him though.

Why? Do you think 21 goals in his 78 games at the Lane was good enough? I don't think a top striker can get away with only scoring in roughly a quarter of his games.

A third of those games were as a sub though. So not really a true reflection. Also a lot of these games he was played out of position, ie on a wing.

Webber is a decent striker, pacey, few tricks and not that bad of a shot. Defenders find him hard to contain. He does a lot of running too.

He was immense our promotion season but maybe his time with us is coming to an end - His performance away to Milwall will stick in my mind - he was quick tricky and scored 2 if i remember rightly

Look at Andy Gray - hes really meeting his potential so all the best to Super Dan (aslong as he doesnt score against us)

I know Monty got one and I thought andy gray got two, plus webber- not sure though

Says on SSN Crystal Palace close to sealing loan move for Sheff Utd's out of favour striker Danny Webber
