Dont knock it until you tried it  As the old saying goes " women are alreet but ya can't beat the real thing " :p

You can have my quota. :)

Also. I really dont get people being irked by corrections. Are all teachers cunts for telling little Bartholomew hes mistakenly used a b where it should have been a d? Are some people excluded from learning?
Feel free to correct me on any grammar and punctuation mistakes btw.

Interesting topic.

I had a bog standard type of education - secondary modern, then many years later I chose to go to what was then the Psalter Lane Polytechnic, which was referred to as tertiary education (so already loaded as far as levels of education go). Generally I have a preference for using and understanding the whole point of language and communication.....but, what I don't allow myself to do is become what some have called 'a grammar nazi'. I still find myself having to correct spelling and punctuation, and lessons are still learnt as a result, but what I do know is that there are those who struggle with language in the same way that I struggled with maths, science, british constitution, and still do. Should I castigate someone because they genuinely struggle with a subject, or should I attempt to understand that struggling is actually a form of social disablement, thus it should be a reason that I reach out and attempt to help them. I know that in some eyes that might appear wooly and patronising, but I don't differentiate between this and attempting to help someone who is homeless and has lost the capacity to get their feet on the first rung of social improvement.
