I'm sure I read somewhere that a deal had been agreed for Chris O'Grady, we were just waiting for Brighton to sign a replacement.

I hope I'm wrong but this article has an air of the perennial classic "we tried but..." about it.

I don't think it was bullshit in August, we signed McNulty and Higdon, neither have quite worked yet and perhaps as fans we expected too much from Higdon to get fit, stay fit and stay on the pitch. I've seen snippets of him and he probably can play a decent role for us. Now the pressure is off him though.

CoG is an excellent signing. There'll be a few teams in the top 6 with their arses twitching.

In fairness, McNulty was the player to develop, but has turned around to have a decent scoring record.

Higdon has been a bit of a Henderson so far

Well, there's been plenty of service into the box so far this season, but no one near to latch on and score, so hopefully a natural goalscorer like O'Grady will benefit from the chances offered and we'll witness a few more goal per game now!
