Yep, Sturridge, Welbeck and Mousset could have had a competition to see who could miss most games through injury!

It is apparent that this season is going to be a high-scoring shoot-out. The absence of crowds has changed the dynamic of the game. You are going to need lots of players who are not afraid to score. I would expect Wellbeck to have scored many of the chances that we contrive to miss.

Astute move by Brighton even if it is only to make sure they have another striker for this strangest of seasons. There is no way that we would have paid the wages, though. Even on a free.

McBurnie scored 6 Premier League goals last season. Welbeck's last 6 seasons: 2 goals, 1 goal, 5 goals, 2 goals, 4 goals, 4 goals. He's a decent player if he stays fit (unlikely) but he's never been prolific. Of course, knowing our luck, he'll turn into fucking Pele this season.

He’s been playing for champions league clubs most of his career, yes he hasn’t looked quite at that level and fallen a little short of it which feeds into this false narrative that he’s a waste of space.

He’s not as old as people assume too.

His injury record and wages could be a problem but I see him more in the 10 role than the 9. Him and mcgoldrick rotating for the 10 with Mcburnie and brewster rotating for the 9 shirt would be decent depth. Sharp, mousse, Burke as other options and we’re stacked.

Only 29. Hardly would break the bank paying him for a season in the premier league. Despite what is said he is a more proven PL goal scorer than any of our players.
