luckily for us he isn't called Christophe WildariFair comment with that background but seriously Wilder has momentum and energy about him that McCarthy doesn 't. Ask Ipswich fans which end of the curve McCarthy is at these days. Ask Blades where Wilder stands momentum-wise.
I think you know that but if you are not just playing devil's advocate, I'd pick Wilder by a street.
that's a middle class thing.. oooh 'you' can't learn this it's too complicated for people like you.. for years i thought i hadn't understood things correctly .. i used to think .. what is that 'it'.. is that all it is?I always find that politicians and the such can take the simplest things and make them much more complicated.
Especially if McCabe leaves.
What relationship has he with the prince? We are told he doesn't fancy a Belgian D.O.F with a brief to recruit foreign players.....
‘pends what kind o jonny foriners..wulvramptun ent dun bad wi johny foriners ?
The ownership dispute is so much the 'Bladesway'. We are vulnerable and there is a worst case scenario which we are all aware of and dread.
Wilder is a professional and successful manager no doubt in big demand for clubs like West Brom, Southampton who will have loads of cash to splash from their Parachute Payments as well as the accumulated wealth from years in the Premier League. He is exactly what those clubs need in their position; a practical, successful manager with his feet on the ground and an incredible three seasons success at three levels of the league where he knows value for money and quality players; an ability to establish 'old values' in the modern game.
Wilder and Knill were given improved contracts last summer but I suggest they are on peanuts compared to the offers that can be made by the above clubs. Added to that their spending budgets and the quality of their exising squads will be far higher than ours while we are paralysed by the owners' legal wranglings without the means to improve the squad much at all.
My belief is that Wilder wants to be in the job he is in right now and for years to come. He can transform the club and change it's history and which Blade would not give their hind teeth for that opportunity - a legend at his own club in his own lifetime and for ever.
On the other hand if the Prince takes total control will he change the phylosophy and careful path that Wilder has established. The risks for Wilder are obvious especially if we have a mediocre start to the season which will not be weighed against the lack of budget in the summer. It's harsh but almost inevitable that results count regardless of background conditions and past achievements are soon forgotten, especially by foreign owners.
This is 'The Bladesway' and it all lifts towards Farce and Incredulity if we should get promoted this season. Wilder will have to weigh-up all those factors very soon I'd say.
What makes you think that HRH will want to tear up the blueprint that he has had a hand in?
Evolution... Not revolution will be the byword.
McCabe told us as much. They see the future differently.

I’m sorry but what tradition? We’ve won zilch since 1925/26 and have an annoying habit of constantly selling the family silverware whenever a Premier League club knocks.
If someone wants to come in and try something different then what’s the harm? We’ve just spent 6 years in League One for goodness sake.
What’s to be feared from the Prince? He’s hardly going to change the strip to blue and white and bring in stoning as half time entertainment.
If Kevin hadn’t lucked out with Wilder performing miracles, every man and his dog would invite change. Just because Chris pulled this out of the fire let’s not kid ourselves we’re a well run blueprint. Before Chris arrived we were abject. His success doesn’t erase that.
Whoever is going to back the manager should be in charge.

You’ve not given me much to go on, Sean, but:No tradition?
If this is true. What makes you think the future will be a negative one?
You’ve not given me much to go on, Sean, but:
Tradition - the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way.
What is McCabe holding so dear that HRH shouldn’t have a fair crack?
Football is a results business. Under KM we’ve just undergone 6 league one seasons.
There seems to be a lot of unsubstantiated fear.
Don’t change the strip.
Don’t sell the ground but otherwise?
If he bins the Academy, the strategy has never been to keep the players long enough. You can’t even stop top clubs taking them now for hardly anything if they get in there early.
We sold Walker when we didn’t need to. That was just avarice and seeing pound signs. From a team perspective selling Naughton should have been adequate. We practically begged to sell Maguire. Clough for all his failings didn’t manage to replace him.
This is the tradition of recent times. Nothing to be so keen to hold dear, 6 league one seasons amongst it.

The point on Wilder was that it is good fortune he’s achieved so much. It hasn’t been because of any seismic shift in backing. He also had to sell promising stars to fund his efforts. And this is pretty much the only appointment McCabe got right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
It’s unfortunate we haven’t heard from the Prince but there is too much scaremongering around tradition.
There is little doubt that though good intentions, KM, would have had to invest more because his record on appointments for who spent his cash was so poor. A club our size should never have hit such a low and to stay there for 6 years is shameful. But hey, us fans would just choose the good looking one, eh?
I see the 'Wilder Will Leave' Brigade have formed a coalition with the 'McCabe is shit' Campaign...
All we need them to do is get into talks with the People's Republic of 'Billy is past it' and we'll have a formidable movement!!
Grouping together under the Sunni banner.
