We are vulnerable this summer.

One has taken a national team to the World Cup finals, two promotions to the premiership and managed for a number of years in both the premiership and championship on his CV. The other is close to completing his first season in the championship as a manager. Who would you pick?

My point entirely!!

Personally, I'd pick Wilder, but I'm aware outside of S2 his reputation isn't that strong..,

Fair comment with that background but seriously Wilder has momentum and energy about him that McCarthy doesn 't. Ask Ipswich fans which end of the curve McCarthy is at these days. Ask Blades where Wilder stands momentum-wise.

I think you know that but if you are not just playing devil's advocate, I'd pick Wilder by a street.

...thought the OP was just another plea for McCabe and ‘no money’ again tbh.

The general fuck-upness of SUFC may be a factor in where Wilder/players end up in the summer...it may not.

No one really knows how that’s going to pan out as yet...including Wilder...probably. :)

That is the worst case scenario for KM and us.

The o.p. was simply a warning that our ma nager is vulnerable and so we fans are too.

However, without big investment we would be also-rans forever.

The likely sequence of events as I see it:

The fat Saudi takes charge

Wilder leaves as a result (if not snapped up already)

New fella not accepted or wanted by many fans, early calls for him to be sacked, atmosphere poisonous as fuck

The greatest opportunity in years pissed away.

I'd love another scenario, but I really can't see one.

Bloody hell, I’m off to get in the bath with a toaster AND hairdryer after reading that.

Record points with 2 different clubs in successive years, followed by a strong challenge for top 6 in the Championship with a lower bottom- half budget. All achieved with positive attacking football and immense entertainment.

Makes you wonder why he has not left already.

Though clubs wishing for championship success are more likely to look at Warnock first, after all the only thing that matters in life is being in the Prem and having to spunk loads of money.

Look at us, what a shit season we have had with all these cut price players.

If Princey ‘bog’s off’ ( see what I did there :) ) do you think McCabe will have new investment at BDTBL before next season starts?
How do you think Wilder’s budget would fare with McCabe footing the bill alone?

You choose if you were West Brom - M cCarthy or Wilder?!!!
Knowing West Brom they'd pick McCarthy, out of all the managers they could've chosen to replace pulis they chose pardew they seem favour older experienced bosses more than unproven ones

I was agreeing with you. McCabe is the worst case scenario because he has invested way more than he intended already. 'For him and us 'as I posted.

I did say " you choose". Can't anybody read:eek::D

The professional valuations of tjr freeholds will take an age to agree. The longer it takes the more fees the 'professionals' make - and by the way the prince will be totally dependant on such advisors.

You probably know greater than I.

But It all sounds like feet dragging to me whilst I appreciate these things take time they should both be pushing to make that the shortest time possible.

I always find that politicians and the such can take the simplest things and make them much more complicated.

No idea what the boardroom outcome will be but if either owner will let the situation derail the forward momentum we've waited too long for, they're only hurting themselves I'd have thought.

I think they may be ready for a change of approach.

The benefit of debate. Not a total about -turn but nearly.

As for 'being aware ' Wilder's reputation not extending beyond S2. Nonsense. 'I call Bullshit' in a big pile in fact:)

Edit: I guess someone else will have to ask the question...

Millwall won't make it. They're a half decent side but on Saturday's showing they won't survive a playoff campaign

Cardiff have the 'Warnock factor' and if substantially reinforced, could survive to exist i the bottom half of the table

Us? We'll kick off next season with the same squad whilst HRH and KMc slap each other with wet fish. Just watch.

pommpey

Unless they patch up their differences and start to work together again, there can only be one winner - but who?

Southampton and West Brom will not be in thr Premier League soon and anyway the same issues do arise with any club with cash to spend and looking for a successful manager who can better himself and add some financial security for his family.

Love a night in the pub actually. Beats having one's head in the sand anytime;) and if you have then always look behind you or you might get rogered Blade.:p!
There's nothing wrong with having your head in the sand (see my avatar) :)

Woody, Woody, Woody,

All this worry, anger and negativity is going to cause you acid reflux if you carry on...

Once you start quoting yourself and making incoherent points, in the words of the great poet Elsa, it's time to Let it Go....

Be grateful I'm educating you to be a better Blade, forum member and human being.

Holding the mirror for you.

No anger, it's voluntary work.
