Hi mate. Didn't we sing that some years back, obviously pre Wilder. I recall it being a kop song a good few years back.

Yeah , seem to remember it being sung and it made me cringe then as much as it did the other week when Bolton sang it . Football fans the world over share songs but there's some that just shouldn't be touched . Blaydon Races is for the geordies ...... end of chat .

Agree Luke.
Just like
"We are fat cunts,we are fat cunts,we are far cunts, from the sty"
will always be synonimous with the porcine.

such a feelin's comin' over me
there is wonder in most everythin' i see
not a cloud in the sky,got the sun in my eyes
were the blades and we are top of the league

were on the top of the league, lookin' down on the bolton
and the only explanation i can find
is the love that i've found, since chris wilders been around
were the blades and we are top of the league

sorry had a drink thought i'd join in
this last bit in't part of song:)
bolton bit could do with a bit of work:(

A shame the last parts the "best" bit PA.

Well we've just had to suffer Matts" Here comes the sun" chant so i'm having a go......

Sung to Mary Hopkin's "Those were the days"....

All together now.......

We are the Blades my friend,
We're from the shoreham end,
We sing and chant forever and a day,
We live on Shoreham Street ,
We never see defeat,
We are The Blades,
Oh yes we are the Blades
Na na na na na na,
Na na na na na na
Na na na na
Na na na na na na
We live on Shoreham Street we never see defeat, We are the Blades ,
O yes we are the Blades......

Then start again

For the young uns, here's old Mary. And it's from the verse of the song.

We used to sing something similar in the 60's but I quite like your vesrion and its easy to remember

I have to declare an interest here,i see no wrong in any of DBs output

Ziggy Stardust is the greatest album ever made IMO,slightly ahead of Hunky Dory

It's all good Fred. Bit of of wobble in the late 80's/early 90's but a bang back to form in the last few years. I counted a while back and I've got 22 albums, nuff said

The Oldies are the best - ask any old-timer and they will come up with the top best United chants from the 60 and 70's. O yes, when Shoreham street was magnafeet! 'Those were the days'

How about folk stop pretending they can write songs and stop embaressing themselves.
Theres a reason none are adopted.
They are all fucking gash.

Just a tip to those who feel they have to write a song.

Keep it fucking short and make it all about kicking the fuck out of the pig cunts.
That works.
You are soooooo classy. :)

You think wrong, your parents might have said you had a talent.....they were kidding
Yes, they lie. They tell their kids, come and watch the Blades, you'll have a good time. (This season excepted of course) It will only lead to a lifetime of misery. You don't think this false dawn is going to last do you? Pah, a mere hiccough in the life of a Blade.

How about to 'I Can See Clearly Now'
I can see clearly now that Hammond's gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way,
Gone are the two Nigels that had me blind,
It's gonna be a bright, bright, bright Chrissy Wilder day'.

Would it be better with "I can see no obstacles in my way" ?

Make it stop

If we're going for gash, how about this from the chorus of Mambo No. 5:

A little bit of Tufty on the line
A little bit of Knilly by his side
A little bit of Fat Lad is all we need
A little bit of Lavery is what we see
A little bit of Flecky in the sun
A little bit of Couttsy on the run
A little bit of Jakey so stuck in
A little bit of Moore and it’s win.

LOL. Hilarious thread.

Sorry mate I did my best, I sang the song in full during the game but no one joined in :(

Chrissy wilder? (shakes head)

not only is it a shat nickname it adds an extra syllable and ruins an otherwise ....................terrible song.

The Flecky and Couttsy lines need swapping around. There is only one sunbather. (although he does it with quality);)

Jim! No! It will end in tears.

I'm still trying to work up something embarrassing for da pigs game involving IKEA.

My My My IKEA is all I've got so far.

What about us reet posh Blades who live in S10?

You Shoreham Street elitist uninclusive unbladey unbladeface.

It's not ' reet ' , it's ' reight ' - it rhymes with eight . Gave your poshness away good and proper there .
