We are no longer 'Gung-ho', for better or worse.

Not too long ago the most serious and yet mild criticism of Wilder was his 'gung-ho' approach where we went at the opposition hell-for-leather for 90 minutes come what may. On occasions the manager was accused of being naïve when the opposition sneaked late goals because we didn't manage-out games.

With the 'gung-ho' came intensity for 90 minutes. We only see it in snatches these days. Our play has slowed down and we throw less players forward.

In recent weeks there have been games when we have been more cautious and the sight of centre backs pushing on has been far less frequent. Last night O'Connell and Basham rarely made runs up-field.

Intensity levels weren't there last night, nor in the second halves against QPR and Leeds. Leicester was a defensive approach for 80 minutes.

We are a bit 'twixt and between', a bit unsure and we have 4 new players bedding in. The Championship was always going to be that much more challenging and let's not forget Wilder hasn't managed at this level before. There are phases in games at this level when the opposition have to be respected and the players need to play each phase appropriately but the intensity has to be there all the time.

We are good enough to reach the play-offs but need to get our 'Mojo' back soon. If we don't reach the play-offs it's no big deal and these new players will be well settled for next season. Leonard and Holmes were long term targets and will be outstanding players. Evans has a lot about him too. These things take time.

I think he means we still get zero points, but going down whith a whimper last night was far more demoralising than giving away a second going balls to the wall trying to get a late equaliser.

It simply wasn't a Wilder performance in any shape or form. We've played poor before but still shown a certain spirit and charcter, last night was a shadow of what Ive come to expect from us this season.

We set off the season like a train and our key players are over 30; is it any wonder intensity has dropped?

Its a fair question.

I think you also have to look at the opposition. There's no doubt that teams are setting up very differently against us these days to earlier in the season.

I said it the other week, there's no way Villa would have set up like that at the Lane in say September. Adomah was given a largely defensive role against us, where as he tore Brum up the other week.

I think it’s fair to say that we’re now a real championship side. Cautious and sometimes negative. We’ve been sucked into the Norwich, Wednesday, Preston way of playing...

I for one am not happy with it
