We are just too nice

Sunrise, sunset.

Wilder has cottoned onto this line of thinking, personally I hope we start surrounding referees and scream at them if it helps us get decisions to go our way.

I also want us to start diving at every opportunity, feigning injury and winding the opposition up to try to get red cards.

The world is how you find it not as you'd like it to be, the game is different and not how it should be sadly. Until/unless that changes we need to change to be the best at it.

Richarlison gets a dangerous free kick by screaming after he went down.

Why don't any of our players do that?

The tackle on MacB could easily have been red if he’d had screamed and stayed down for five minutes ........ let’s all be glad he didn’t.

Tom Davies looked relieved that it was a yellow.

I didn't think there was much in it to be honest. McB turned his back into him as he was sliding.

It would be a shame for football if things like that ended with a red.

Norwood's, even though I didn't even think it warranted a foul let alone a yellow, could have seen a red too as his studs were up.

That's the state of the game today. It's shit.

We can have all the self respect we like the Premier League is a game of fine margins and leaving our selves open to gamesmanship and shit housery leaves us at a slight disadvantage. Wilder has previously said that we may need to "change our approach" when talking about this.

Enda Stevens just did that, got the free kick and the other player a yellow card.

Good man.

We have to get more aggressive in our protests, too passive too meek

Knowing our luck we will just talk our way into more bookings. That said a bit of Chelsea style surrounding the ref intimidation might be an idea.

I'd much rather play with integrity then go down easily and feign injuries. However, if you feel someone pull ya shirt just stop running.

You are putting faith in assuming we will get the decision if the player does go down.

I posted this elsewhere, but every time someone tells you 'it all evens out over the course of a season' I think you should be allowed to punch that person full in the face.

Yes, it makes me vomit
We get screwed over everywhere and then VAR disallows a goal we concede in a meaningless game, a goal that was never a goal in a million years.

And that somehow constitutes us getting our bit of luck, therefore evening everything up.

Lundstram should go down when clipped slightly in the box and Burke should make it obvious his shirt got pulled. If both of those things happen I reckon atleast one if not both of those situations go in our favour. It really is pointless being high and mighty about not being theatrical, going down easy, feigning injury, diving etc. It's clearly part of the game in this league and it's terrible but the ref's will actually penalise you for being honest/fair so we gotta just get down in the mud with the rest of them.

The Lundstram incident was identical to the one when Arsenal were awarded a penalty against us in the quarter final following a Basham challenge. And which all the sage pundits claimed was definitely, certainly a penalty.

The pull on Burke was as clear as it gets (if not on the field then on the replay) and exactly what the red card rule was introduced for in the first place, whenever way back in history that was. The only possible justification for not taking it any further was that it's hard to imagine us creating any sort of goalscoring opportunity at the moment. But I digress. What I meant to say is that VAR is absolutely shite.

Wilder keeps saying he doesn't get angry enough with refs. Wakey wakey Chris, this is how football works in the EPL by being honest Joe is a sound principle but by doing this you are doing the team no favours. Burke should have gone down, it would have to be a red, Lunny should go down, it was a penalty and VAR would have shown that in case the blind bastard in the middle missed.

Let's wise up, get cute, get angry and do what everyone else fucking does.

That's our problem.

I hate players hounding the referees, on a moral and footballing level. Yet one of the greatest sides of all time Barcelona, under Pep Guardiola, did it all the time to great effect.

If we had caused a scene, especially Wilder, things may have ended up very differently today and force Oliver (who I don't blame) to look at the monitor.

Brighton do it, get one of ours sent off.

Why didn't our players surround the ref when Burke was brought down? Not saying that it was a red but you never know

And then we win the game. We also kicked up a massive fuss about the hand ball )

Exactly, don't get me wrong I hate it also but if you can't beat them join them then beat them. (at football)

A bit disappointing its taken this long for us to clock on to this.
