Mate, I'll be honest. I'd love nothing more for us to be top of the Premier League, in Europe every season, world class players in our 1st XI, etc. But it's not gonna happen is it? I liked it when we were in the Championship. We're a 2nd tier side, through and through, and once we're there, I'll honestly be happy. I'll get excited if we get to the Premier League, but I won't feel like I'm missing out if we don't.

I just put any age when a joined. It's only a forum it's not a birth certificate pal.

Championship is great but wednesday are aiming for premiership. I'd be happy in the champ no doubt as it seems like a more real league rather than the premier which is only about money and selling souls. But i'd still like to be in the top flight once again.

And those views about the Championship and Premier League? They seem very detailed and overly cynical for someone who only got into the sport 6 months ago.

Do you suffer from acute paranoia? Does your Mrs secretly support the pigs?

Is that why she gave you your cuppa in a blue mug this morning?

I never accused him of being a Wednesdayite. Wouldn't suprise me though.

What he certainly isn't is a 30 year old who has only been into football for 6 months.

As an aside Barn, I have never accused you of being Wendy either. In fact I have said I think you aren't a Wednesday fan before, gone into bat for you on that one.

You used the term 'Wednesdayite'. Only a pig would use that over pig or wendy. See it works both ways.

Well if he's not a blade of 6 month vintage, you'd have to ask of his motives for trying to portray such a thing. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but it seems a strange thing to lie about and does encourage suspicion.

Welcome to being a blade topple. You'll get used to the cynicism on here after a while. Blades are suspicious of 'new' blades who are optimistic, we're not used to it. It's not that we don't want the team to do well, it's just that, especially those of us who have supported the club for 20, 30 or 40 years or more, we've been let down so many times. Our play off record is officially the worst in the land, we've been relegated more than once under let's say dubious circumstances and only recently been pipped to promotion by our hated rivals after our star striker gets sent down with 3 games to go - you really could not make it up. One thing is for sure, supporting the Blades is never dull. It's great you have picked a 'proper' club to support rather than the likes of Arsenal, Man Yoo or Citee (although tbf their fans are real and keep thinking it's all bound to go wrong for them). You will find that Blades fans have great dark humour - when we got back to 3-3 at Wigan our supporters chanted "You're just as shit as us" - that's kinda what we're like.

You can fight it or run from it but it will get you in the end...
I will add my voice to yours and say
We will go up this season, it's not contractual but being positive is life affirming.
