I didn't expect to win today, I definitely didn't expect to do it with a clean sheet. It's been another quality of Wilder throughout his time here how well he has the squad as a whole prepared. Players step in and look like they've been playing there all season. Players seen as back up have just gone to away to WBA and held them to a nil. Fantastic stuff.

The current squad rotation will have done nothing but good.

Players like Baldock, Basham (15 minutes tonight), Egan and O’Connell will have had a rest period of 2 weeks or so, hopefully giving them the energy for the final push. The players that have featured of late will have put pressure on what many on here would consider first team starters and this will no doubt give them a kick up the arse and an challenge to further prove themselves (not that they need it). Really impressed with the Boro, Reading and now West Brom results, highlights the improvements we have made has a squad and why we are serious automatic promotion contenders, can’t imagine many other top six teams could change 4 of a back five and still keep clean sheets. On to the derby days against the filth and the friendly millers. I truly believe if we beat Leeds and we have got promotion in the bag, feet on ground though.

Players that have looked like guaranteed starters...well, they aren't. Baldock has had this back and forth with Freeman where each time one is forced out the other does well enough to keep the shirt. But Basham has been a banker on the team sheet since Wilder took over and, while I expect him to return to the side, the players that kept him out today have made very strong cases for themselves. Cranie has been immense.

Crainie has been excellent. Early days and this will ruffle a few feathers, but he seems more 'solid' than Basham.

Cranie looks quicker than basham, however, bash looks superior aerially. In every other attribute I would say it’s even. Another string to bashams bow is the fact he could be used as a ball winning midfielder if needed, haven’t seen that in cranies locker yet due to a lack of opportunity (luckily), but I’m sure he would be just as good.

I think our our squad must have the highest fitness levels in the league. The amount of work we get through off the ball is phenomenal.
