I was watching seasons 2006/7,2007/8 and 2008/9 on you tube a couple of days ago.
Paul Iffil looked better than I remember back then and other players that did a good job eg Shipperley,Armstrong,Halford,Quinny,Webber etc.
There were some players I had forgotten about eg Lucketti,O'Toole,Dyer,Legertwood and opposing players Gary Monk giving a pen away for Swansea,Graham Alexander Scunny manager scoring a penalty against us,Hulse scoring for Derby home and away and a young Billy Sharp scoring a hat trick at the Lane.
It seems weird watching it back now but we did have some good players back then.
1 of the best goals I remember was Ade Akinbiyi at the sty won 2-1

Remember it well.
Feb 18th. It was my wedding anniversary and I promised to take Mrs Greasy out for a meal as part of the match day negotiations.
I was sat right at the back and jumped up when we almost scored a third and whacked my head on a steel girder.
Missed the last 10 mins on my way to get it stitched at the Northern General.

Akinbiyi was worth the transfer fee just for that goal alone.
Was pretty much his only contribution (maybe weighed in with a couple more goals) but a worthy contribution!!

Took my eldest to that game, which was his first away Derby match! Always remember his face when we went ahead - priceless memory. He was only eight.

My abiding memory though is that we should have scored about 8 and then nearly threw it away!! "Never the easy way" should be the club moto
