this argument has been faught too many times. Righ to sack him, bad timing. Simple as that.

Not wrong to sack him, but definitely wrong to sack him at that time. Should have done it in June 2010 (Or maybe even in June 2009)

^^^^^^^^what he said.

Cant believe we didnt let him go to QPR after the playoffs

Yes we were, but only due to the timing. Monty, on RS tonight, made the point about changing managers, changing players and systems causing the disruption and a lack of pre-season with a settled team that has played the season.

Either sack in May or leave until well into the season. Not after a decent performance with 10 men at one of the pre-season favourites, a disappointing League Cup exit and a heavy defeat to the best team in the division.

Id say we should of sacked him but we should of sacked him alot earlier than we did. We left it so so late to let him go and from the off despite being a pretty much manager Speed was left to pick up the peices along with every manager after him.

We turned a rough start to the season into an absolute shambles and its the board that have a lot to answer for.

Wrong to sack him and replace him with someone worse.

We had a squad that was lacking quality, pace and numbers at the start of the season and decided to take a put a bloke with no managerial experience the job.

Right decision to sack him; wrong decisions with the replacements.

I'd more say right decision to sack wrong freaking time, as of the other three managers jury still out for Adams for me, Speed was here for pre season and already had better knowledge of the players, he should have been able to get better results.

let's put this in perspective.. we've only 'actually' sacked one manager.. one was sacked.. one was allowed to leave and one was only 'ever' an interim post.. norwich sacked bryn gunn after one game last season.. one game.. they replaced him with the guy who had just brought colchester to their place and spanked them 5 nil

definately right to sack him, but should have let him go after the play off final resignation

All down hill from there

Basing my vote purely on the timing of it - yes, it was the wrong decision. Judging from the knee-jerk nature of the decision the directors clearly had little confidence in him. They should have dismissed him at the end of the previous season if that was the case. The instability is what has ultimately cost us this season. I think we would have struggled anyway but it has made the difference between staying up and going down IMO.

There isn't really an option that covers what I think. We were wrong to sack him at the time that we sacked him.

Edit - so I agree with what SteelCity Blade has said above.

For me the decision to sack him was correct at that time...but to replace him with Speed was a poor move.

I have no doubt that if Blackwell was still in charge we would not be going down, hindsight is a great thing

As many others have said ....

was we wrong? No.

were it the right time? Neyw.
