Was in the North Stand with my wendy brother in law, never felt so pissed off in all my life.
Like the Pig I know who insists there were no Blades on the Sty Kop in 1971. He was 4 at the time.
There were thousands of us centre right as you look at the shitheap from the pitch.
Jeff JohnsonI recall Sabella getting some rough treatment to put him out of the game (Geoff King?)
I was there that (awful) day. Many years later I was at our game at Charlton (last game of season under Kendall before we entered the play offs where we ultimately fooked it against Palace (fucking David Hopkin)). Anyhow - me and my mates git chatting to Bob Bolder (who played in goal for the wendys on Boxing Day 79) who was in charge of Charlton's hospitality. To be fair he was a top bloke and a good laugh. He was quite clear that in the Boxing day game they went after Sabella with the aim of putting him out of the game. Didn't really need to though as the mud saw to that. He also pissed himself laughing when I confessed that his finger tip save from Jeff Bourne had ruined my Xmas (and the next 30yrs). I was ready to smash him in the face. But the fact he's a big bugger meant I didn't. That and the fact that talking about that day brought on an attack of poat traumatic stress.
Please God let this next encounter with our porcine neighbours we one where we give them the absolute fucking arseholing of their lives. I realise that phrase lacks poetry.... but it helps with my anger.
Remember when we went in 3-0 up at HT at the Lane. I thought that was the day. The only bloke in the ground who didn't know that they would come out second half all guns blazing was that dick of a manager we had at the time.
Apologies for the video title
Thank you for vid mate and was there that day, cracking goal by curren though.
Then he ended up signing for you, what was he like like when he played for you matey. It was. By that time everyone hated him of course. Just look at his celebration in front of the Blades fans on Boxing Day
It may not be PC to say it, but to most Blades of that era he was the "greasy gyppo"
Walked down from Grenoside via Chaucer , can still see the women folk stood smoking in their new pink fluffy slippers, getting home God knows , remember Dad trying and failing to introduce the word Context...alright for him , he was at the 7-3I walked from hackenthorpe as there were no buses, 11 am ko anall, only the Walsall fuck up beat that day for gut wrenching, I actually spilled a few tears thanks to don givens.
But hey, we have fire and brimstone man Chris wilder now. Bring it on.

Wasn't it Jeff bourne that hit the bar??I must have been stood near to you. I can still remember the sound of the ball hitting the bar when we were attacking in the first half. I think we would have equalised if it had gone in.
i guess so.Rubbish and unpopular.
Does that answer your question?
There was...me, Frank Gordon,Paul Quinn and Danny Miskelly were the only blades on the bus back to Parson Cross after the game ....we got ripped to shreds verbally, and Danny got off 2 stops early ,with us,rather than take any more ..I'm sure there were a fleet of buses after the game - football special buses maybe?
Once a cunt , always a cunt ,Then he ended up signing for you, what was he like like when he played for you matey.
that is a sad post my friend,Once a cunt , always a cunt ,
pity that cue ball didn't hit him on Boxing Day ,
never ever cheered for that fucker in a Blades shirt .
Givens , Curren , there is no depth of my hatred of these two cunts .
Yes and McPhail had a sitter saved by Bob Bolder in the follow upWasn't it Jeff bourne that hit the bar??
Age hasn't soften my approach to either WHB .that is a sad post my friend,
