Was that good ?

In hindsight starting McAtee was naive. Let's try to give him more and more playing time at home and take it from there.
With Fleck out, we lose another decent competitor for a long while. Coulibaly is one who could have offered solidity in midfield. Doyle will have to step up now, but it would have been nice to have a real battler in midfield. Sunderland before the sending off, Blackburn for 15 minutes after half time and Luton today showed that the way to make us struggle is to be aggressive and turn the game into a battle. There will be more games like tonight's and we need to be prepared for it. I wonder if we should try to add one more midfield signing, if only short term. He may not have to be brilliant. Mainly strong and competitive.
Absolutely correct.
Hecky cocked up with his selection of McAtee instead of Doyle.
In his interview he said Luton played exactly as he expected.
Foolish then to put a little boy into such a midfield battle.
Also , putting Berge deep in first half is a tragedy.
Berge can't battle.
Needed Doyle as alongside Norwood and Berge forward as an outlet.
Poor by Hecky tonight.
Such a shame about Coulibaly.
We need to sign a combative midfielder now that both Fleck & Osborn are out , unless we are prepared to risk Bash or Arblaster in midfield.
Because if Doyle gets injured we are in big trouble.

Completely different opposition. That was never gonna be like the Blackburn game and was never going to be pretty on the eye.

Over a season you're going to have scrappy games like that and you take a point.
Blackburn was our Peterborough of last season
They were both shit poor teams
That is not a gauge of the rest of this division.
Sunderland outplayed us 11 on 11 Watford we were awful Boro we were patchy Millwall tried to play us at football first half and it cost them second half direct and physical
and we had to dig in admittedly we did so well
Are we good enough to go up - yes if everyone is fit ( excluding JOC)
Seriously concerned with the amount of injuries and knocks keeping players out all seem to follow our managers previous at barnsley Leeds and Hibs
And we need to consider how we set up
away - nowt changed since his first away game at Cardiff
Which we scrapped home against 10

More pros than cons for me.....time to move on and smash reading , point against a WWF team, Doyle looked good,.anel rested , MCB broken duck, any point on the road is a good point

Just back. Shithole as we know. Glad to get a point.

Play Doyle from off instead of MacAtee and push Berge forward and we win it.

Worried about Bash in the air these days. He’ll struggle to start with Anel fit even if we have any lcb issues imo.

Agree on Bash in the air. Really struggles now.

Teams will step up when they play us , it’s just a fact and something we have to deal with , point away and 3 at home will bring promotion.

It's a good point and battling performance, and another game of a tough start ticked off. Watford, Boro, Luton. It doesn't get much tougher for a set of away games to start with. We've done well at home now for 10 months, and expect we win up to 20 games at home. We just need 7 or 8 wins away, with another 7 or 8 draws, and that's the 90 point mark achieved.

Bit of credit to Luton but we were a shadow of the side against Blackburn
I disagree, Luton are a much better team than Blackburn; aggressive, physical, organized and not short of skill, so gave us a lot of problems and forced errors.
I expect them to be up there again this season.

Hard game. Luton played a rough game on us, and we came back with a point.
Sorted. Next game please.

Not short of skill ?

Really poor game technically but the ref set the stage for a slogging match and we did well to keep our heads and take a point. We’ll tear them up at BDTBL as long as the referee stops their rough house tactics.
Bigger concern for me was our inability to play football in the second half when we had them rocking. Berge went missing again and Norwood playing deep and pinging probably the cause?
Thought we did well, as the technically better side, to deal with a tight physical game. We got craft and grit. Good away point, Luton are no pushovers (far from it). Entertaining game.

Happy as long as mainly go unbeaten away from home, hopefully picking up a win here and there to account for inevitable away losses to promotion contenders
