i know very little about football / but was that good tonight ?

Honestly

Can’t remember anyone other than OMc doing anything all game

Turgid

Once again more changes to the first team and expecting the same sort of performances.

Injuries just as bad if not worse than last season.

Completely different opposition. That was never gonna be like the Blackburn game and was never going to be pretty on the eye.

Over a season you're going to have scrappy games like that and you take a point.

Luton were.good first half, we upped it in the second and I thought could've won it, good point on the road, a lot of other teams will get nothing there so for me it's a good result

Really poor game technically but the ref set the stage for a slogging match and we did well to keep our heads and take a point. We’ll tear them up at BDTBL as long as the referee stops their rough house tactics.
Bigger concern for me was our inability to play football in the second half when we had them rocking. Berge went missing again and Norwood playing deep and pinging probably the cause?

Thought we were well off the pace tonight and anyone who says we played well, is in cuckoo land.

What we did do though is battle well in the second half and that was enough to get a deserved draw despite having to make changes again and finishing with a make shift side. I'll take that. But we certainly didn't play well tonight. We did battle for a good point though when we were far off our best. A good point that.

Have to give credit to the opposition at times. They are a nightmare to play against. Blackburn came to the lane to try and play football and got battered. Luton have a different approach and that’s why they finished above Blackburn last season and probably will again this season. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it will get them results.

Take a point and move on. Not many teams will get anything from Luton. People expecting us to go there and play like Saturday are living in La La land

I don't think you can blame Norwood for Berge having an off day against a bunch of knucklers tbf

Sorry, I wasn’t suggesting that Norwood was the reason Berge was poor. Norwood kept slinging long balls all over the place and everyone followed suit.
Berge simply can’t cope when it gets a bit tasty. Wierd, I’ve beer seen such a big bloke be so weak in a challenge. He’s played some beautiful football for us but, sadly, he just doesn’t seem to be able to cope with the physicality of Championship football. He can’t play the battling midfield role and we never set up to allow him to play higher up the pitch in away games. I think that is why we look so poor away from home, Nothing linking midfield and attack so we are forced to go long

Can confirm - fucking loved it. The Championship is a superb league to go and watch games in.
It was a good game.

Both teams going for the win.

Difficult place to go, tight pitch, another play off team from last year.

Not unhappy with a point at all and delighted for McBurnie who put in am excellent performance and was rewarded was the goal from a very capable finish.

Unless there is an absolute hammering this weekend we'll still be top as well.

It was an exciting game to watch. Lots of fight. Not technically the best but a right scrap.

In hindsight starting McAtee was naive. Let's try to give him more and more playing time at home and take it from there.
With Fleck out, we lose another decent competitor for a long while. Coulibaly is one who could have offered solidity in midfield. Doyle will have to step up now, but it would have been nice to have a real battler in midfield. Sunderland before the sending off, Blackburn for 15 minutes after half time and Luton today showed that the way to make us struggle is to be aggressive and turn the game into a battle. There will be more games like tonight's and we need to be prepared for it. I wonder if we should try to add one more midfield signing, if only short term. He may not have to be brilliant. Mainly strong and competitive.

Sometimes you can't judge a performance on how pretty the game was. When you're playing against teams that give you no space and play the dirty game, you have to scrap through it.

It was a hard earned point and the team deserve praise.

You mean like a Michael Brown type 😊?

Exactly

And totally agree re McAtee. Far better to give him minutes at home where we will have more control with the opposition sitting in and he can move them around and thread passes . He looked a boy amongst men out there tonight and looked shell shocked.

Until he gets really into it, it does feel like McAtee is more of a player for home games and Doyle for example with a bit more experience and more of an out and out central midfielder for the tricky away ones.

all teams are normally better at home
in such a competitive league home advantage counts for a lot

Luton closed us down well and we rarely got into any rythym. a point is a point more to the total.

average 2 points per game your in with a shout that's why we are top
