The Sheffield Telegraph are reporting that the Blades are working on a new contract for Neil that they will probably put to him in January.

He could be in a very strong postion at that time to ensure a very good contract.

Let's hope so!

About time, he's really done a fantastic job for us and it's only fair he gets his chance to manage in the Premiership once again, and this will nicely put those stupid "Warnock to Pompey" rumours.

apperently Milan Mandaric is prepared to offer warnock double the salary he is currently gettin at bramall lane, rising from 400k to 800k a year.

At the end of the day, I have worked in places for less money just becasue I loved the job, I loved the people and I wanted to do something at that place.

Now Warnock is Blade, there can't be any better job right now than taking your supported team into the premiership. How can just managing to keep Pompey up (at the best) be a better achievment than taking us up.

He has the right mentality of a proper old skool manager, I don't think the extra money will tempt him. Of cause he'll think about it, but I don't think for 1 minute he would seriously consider it. He's not Steve Bruce or David O'Leary who only think of cash.

He has already stated that he wants to retire in 3 yrs, so would you risk making the lst 3 yrs of your managerial life getting relegated with a team from the prem, or taking YOUR team into the prem and keeping them there?

I know what I would do, also, he on £400,000 a yr, it's not as if it's hardly anything is it.

i agree wi ya mate, he's not that type o bloke to get a job half done and then leave it (takin the blades up)

i cant disagree with anything you guys have said, i cant see wornock going to pompy, especially given that his boyhood club are odds on to return to the top flight, and its him thats got them there.

why would he go to pompy and risk managing in the championship again next season? its not a gamble that i would take.................although if pompy want a manager ill do it for 100k a year.

LOL

According to some of todays rags we will offer him a £300,000 pay rise.

Not bad if you can get it.

I suppose we are paying too!
