Are these the SUFC shares when we were listed? I bought £750 worth on the opening day and when McCabe de-listed never heard from anyone so don't know if these are still relevent or not.

Shares

I believe there was a thread on here not so long ago regarding shares and phone calls asking if they were interested in selling their shares.
I've had a look but can't find it as I've just received a call from some foreign guy asking if I was interested in selling the shares I hold (actually my son's but at the time he wasn't old enough to buy so he bought in my name and we've never signed them over to him as yet!).
This fellah tried a little small talk but I cut him short and asked who the interested party was and what price they were offering. He refused to reveal who they wre as he said it is a hostile bid and the price was a rather high 15 to 20 pounds per share! (as it is a hostile bid apparently?). I said I wasn't interested.
Anyone remember the thread and anyone had anymore calls like this?

£15-20 a share? I'm rich! I've got thousands of them and I assumed they were worthless.

When you say he was foreign, he didn't sound Nigerian did he?

£15 - £20 per share! I wonder how many shares are outstanding, anyone any idea?

im not at all in the know with regards to takeovers or acquisitions.

so can anyone tell me, if someone is trying to buy shares for 15-20 would they be a possible serious investor? are our shares even worth 15-20? if not, why such a high overprice for them?

its chris turner he is going to monopolise the sheffield football scene

got the same phone call this afternoon

but the call ended as soon as he said he was interested in buying "on behalf of clients"

I'll buy em at 0,0000000000.75p a share ....no need for bank details i'll pay yer via Paypal.

I guess you would have to give out your bank account details so they pay the money in, yes?...
As soon as he mentioned the daft price, the alarm bells rang and overcame the greed element in me and i bid him good day :-)

"When you say he was foreign, he didn't sound Nigerian did he? "
i'd say more Asian :-)

This is a bit out of date, but maybe you could still sell shares though Jenkins. 8p sounds a bit more realistic than £15-20. From memory, there were 60 million shares in issue, so you can work out what the value of the club would be at £15 a go.

So McCabe owns the bulk of a club worth £900m yet he still won't put his hand in his pocket for loads of new players.

now i dont know if these are sold or bought but this year alone quite a few shares in SUFC have been traded.
and over last 17 months quite a large amount.

as follows: shares traded
22/10/2010 Sheffield Utd 1484547 8.5p
24/03/2010 Sheffield Utd 25000 8.5p
01/03/2010 Sheffield Utd 10000 8.5p
10/07/2009 Sheffield United 1671748 8.5p
10/07/2009 Sheffield United 11200 8.5p

18/05/2009 Sheffield United 1457984 8.50p
13/05/2009 Sheffield United 75000 8.50p
total shares traded = 4737979
total amount (in pound sterling) = £48129.79

on a side note on 22/01/2009 the shares in Charlton Athletic FC were 33.00p a team in freefall against a team going for promotion to premier league, wonder how that works.if anyone who understands share trading can explain, id like to know.
