Wanker of the week (3)

Don't agree with OP at all. Since when did we not like players with passion? LC is just getting back to the form he showed at the end of last season. He was gunning down on a through ball and got smacked across the face by a flailing arm from a wanker who was having trouble coping with him up until then. Yes, he reacted with passion, should not have been goaded, words were said and he was just showing who was boss. Foolish for a second of passion, certainly not WOTW!

In important games? In this Cup couldn't care a toss.

Clarke. Hanson and Lavery have both been disappointing. I never liked Evans when he was here last. OK for L1 but never got a kick in this league, much like last Saturday despite tired legs from those on the pitch all game.

Has to be Clarke. Still hopeful Lavery meets his own standards before long. Brooks/ Carruthers maybe in a slightly different role. Thomas is interesting in a different formation.

It's hard to find anyone to play in a partnership with Sharp though.

Apologies WWF . It's the games where Clarke is suspended that I'm referring to . Its 3 games isnt it ?

Maybe Wilder will pull a surprise loan out of the bag for us ?

i still stand by what i said at the time. ref was correct 1st time ive ever agreed with 2 red cards. im not saying i would be innocent. Probably done something similar in heat of the moment. but by the law it violent conduct & if ref himself wouldve been servely told off if only gave a yellow for grabbing around the throat

but as most say stupid yes & we all been guilty of it. so never wanker

Is this a thing?

Are we doing this?
derfblade.3 is, every week.

Lino got it last week and some Brentford fan in week 1 who labeled us hoof merchants.

Very harsh on Leon this week. Perhaps, united players should be excluded, so McDonald it is then ;-)

Out of interest WWF , who would you start alongside Billy ?

Out of a bit more interest , does the Leicester game count as one of Clarkes suspensions ?

For the record , i too dont think Ched should start either . Hes simply not quite ready yet .
Yh all games count as suspensions unless the suspended player isn't eligible for those games e.g cup tied

Really. First two years in this league 71 games 13 goals and he hardly broke into a sweat/

Whether or not Evans does well for us this season remains to be seen. Far too early to say one way or the other.

However, it isn't really fair to judge him as likely to fail just because of his previous record here at this level. Just as it would be unfair to suggest that Sharp was likely to fail because of his record when last playing here at this level.

Billy Sharp was here from 2007-9 and playing at this level. He made 51 league appearances and scored 8 goals.

Ched Evans was playing for us at this level from 2009-11. He made 67 league appearances and scored 13 goals. Not a brilliant strike rate, but better than Sharp.

Both players were about the same age when they previously came here.

Sharp is match fit and has got off to a good start. Certainly a much better start than when last here. The fact that this time he is being played in his favoured position probably helps, unlike last time when he seemed to spend most of his time out on the wing!

When fully match fit, it isn't beyond the bounds of possibility that Evans might also do better than last time. Both players are after all older and (hopefully) wiser.

One of the common denominators when they were last here at this level was that they were both managed by Kevin Blackwell for a significant period of time ! Sharp for 2 seasons and Evans for one.

I hope Evans does well. He is a different type of player to Sharp and could give us a different option. He might fail, but let's not decide he's rubbish based on what he did 6-8 years ago when he was a much younger man and playing under a very different manager.

Agree with every word of that. I had not intended to say he won't do well, indeed if I did so. I sincerely hope he does well as we need him if we don't sign a.n.other striker, particularly if Hanson leaves.

I was never impressed with his 'team ethos'. Let's hope he has matured into a team player.

Agree with all of that. However, Evans had two years out of the game completely, which Sharp didn't have. I think that has much more significance than his previous record here, at this or any other level.

Sorry, no Blades player should qualify in a wanker situation.

It's similar to me to Mcnulty being put in the same phase/sentence as the word cunt.

For me - It's not on. Some of our players may be poor or have issues, but it crosses a red line.

UTB

Marlon King ?
Dean Hammond ?

Wankers are everywhere, especially in football. Let's not airbrush our history.

Sharp was a Blackwell man so you could argue he did have a period out of the game.

Four years out of the games wasn't it? He was prison for 2 and a half years.

WTF?? Is this a weekly post to create mutiny towards our own players?
OP - whats the purpose of this thread?
My wanker of the week is Fletcher, as I was a Fulham win from £150 on my acca. And he's a pig. Blades are exempt.

Wonder if Man City fans will be creating a post calling Kyle Walker a wanker, doubtful.

Fulwood Blade

But it's not about airbrushing history - it's about the definition of a wanker.

Interesting to know whether you think Clarke qualifies?

Be very careful here or it will look like you are putting up a defence for Hammond and King. If so, you'd be in line to win next week's competition.

can someone explain why we need a wanker of the week , its jus trying to make scapegoating look acceptable

if they wear the shirt is it neccesary to diss them

but the OP WON CUNT POST OF THE DAY

Taking things too seriously alert.

Even propagandists get the odd day off surely.

Hammond hasn't done anything to be called a wanker - he could go in the twats section for various reasons and also the people involved in his "transfer". Can't blame Hammond for the deal he was given - most would have taken it. He was just a really really poor footballer for us.

King - yep he would run it close - once again, we should look very closely at who put us fans in that situation with KIng.

As for next weeks award - whatever..........if that/s the level some want to operate in so be it - i'll take my chances.

Nope, I don't think he qualifies. But I do think anyone sent off in those circumstances should be disciplined by the club.

Indeed - it could have cost us the game.

We benefited much more than Barnsley - hardly having to adjust our team play/pattern/formation. Barnsley came out with 3 at the back and you could tell they didn't really know how to play it.

Wasn't that enough?

Shit useless performance after shit useless performance. You seem to have a very high wanker-tolerance-threshold in your bit of S10.

In all seriousness, what are you implying? I went to see Julian Winter in 2013 to let him know how me and many others felt but he explained how they'd done loads of character research and he was actually a nice guy. I don't really know who was behind that grubby deal.

Hopefully we'll get a draw tonight and then 2 of Clarke's 3 match suspension can be served in cup games

That's a point.... do we go straight to extra time then penalties or are there still replays ?
edit: obviously after the initial 90 minutes before some smart alec points it out

Think I've read the draw for round 3 is being made in China (wtf).... so "live" over here about 4.15 a.m. tomorrow or something daft.
