We are a shambolic, pathetically managed club. No hope, no direction and Walton's signing was a total and utter disgrace for a club where the chairman stated this summer that we were still very much going for it, that we had too many loans etc. Blackwell's excuses have started already and we are now the laughing stock of Sheffield as far as squad building is concerned.

No lose signing eh? What a load of shite.

Blackwell Out.

Why dont you clear off to S6, or better still.....Barnsley

I have never come across such a miserable man, have you ever had a positive thought in your entire life?!?!?

When you feel yourself being wound up by Len, just think of this picture:

Sadly I think a few people on here probably ripped their cocks off in excitement when they heard this news. Such a cherry to abuse the management doesn't come along this often so they have to take their tugs where they can.

Nope, not true. I was abusing the management over this as soon as he was signed.

That's the point though, SUFC seem to be growing a cherry tree, because we have one appear every other fortnight with one faux pas or another.

Pointless debating with you Mic, and you may have noticed that most people no longer bother. You have become very boring.

Not really noticed to be honest - not much to debate is there? Who thinks Blackwell is a good manager? You?

Anyway, I'll just go and have a cry about it and take my bat home. By the way, are you saying that I was at some stage not boring?

You used to make the odd reasoned point, and not every post was an all out rant against Blackwell. These days the gist of all of your posts can be predicted with unerring accuracy before even reading them.

Agreed to be fair, the standard of debate from some has sunk to a whole new level. Almost to the point where it's difficult to muster the enthusiasm to respond!

Yeah, I agree.

The reason we are offering to assist him for the next season is obviously because our management team rate this lad.
I don't think most sensible people would question his ability merely his attitude. Our management team obviously feel that this lad could be a diamond in the rough.

Some people are just happiest when they are moaning. Beats me why certain people are quite clearly unhappy yet will continue to do the thing that makes them unhappy and worse still, moan about it as if they are somehow being made to do it against their will.

If you're not happy with a product you don't buy it, if you don't enjoy watching something you don't watch it. If I can't stand a particular TV programme, I don't go on their website telling everyone how much I don't like it and moan about how bad it is.

And some are finding it increasingly difficult to even muster the energy to read in the first place.

It's unfortunate but many forums become dominated by the loudest noises from the emptiest vessels and reasoned debate becomes a thing of the past.

It's a shame but in my opinion this forum is a long way down that road with many of the new members gained when BU closed no longer visible.

And that is exactly what is happening with this forum as I say above.

The lunatics are taking over the assylum

Do you applaud when you see a good tv programme? Or cheer it on before it starts? Or talk about actors they should sign for the next episode?

While I agree in principal with your view towards him, the 2 have barely any comparisons at all, people do this all the time, say stuff like 'if you don't like a supermarket, don't go there' it's quite clearly not that simple.

I have been impressed with many of your recent posts Bob (and with a few other people's too).

I just hope that you don't become a lone voice in the wilderness.

FFS Mic!

I know you want rid of Blackwell, but stooping to have a go at Blackwell/ the club when Walton gets a severe injury like this is too far.

I said on the other Walton thread that I think United are doing the right thing. We had an agreement and like it or not, were sticking to it.

No blame can be levelled at Blackwell on this. The injury could of and can happen to any of our players even the ones that perform and do well (that Blackie signed)

If I were to get a car on a lease hire agreement, and crash it in the first week, would I be able to hand the wreck back to the dealer and say "sorry, but the deal's off. I'm not paying for it"?

But wouldn't the comprehensive insurance policy you've just taken out cover the (majority of) costs?

I do know that footballers insurance is quite a costly job but required legally under the FA/FIFA rules so I'd expect us to have some sort of cushion. Same as the Ebrell saga I guess.

Best way to deal with Len is "Don't feed the trolls." In the many years I don't think I've ever seen him answer a direct question or praise the club; every little issue is a cause for criticism.

I'm pretty sure Lenners has stood or sat near me at the Lane for the last 30 years. He might not look or sound the same each week, but he's always there. I'm convinced that if Lenners stops moaning the world will stop spinning, so let him crack on and Bramall Lane will continue to be a place of awkward disharmony for many years to come.

We don't do happy or content, if we were ever to win a bloody trophy then all you'll hear is, "Ah, but it's took the buggers long enough". And it doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks, they are right!

Most of us will blindly go on supporting the team regardless and in this respect I agree that it's not that simple but my point is levelled towards those who find negativity in everything. In another thread people are talking about optimism and I, like many others, are optimistic at the start of every season. In that respect, starting to go to games again is enjoyable, even though we may well come crashing down very quickly ! If you believe what certain people type in here, they cannot possibly enjoy supporting the football team in any shape or form and it's those people you have to question why they bother.

Jeez, what an incredible bunch of wet blankets. Or big tarts as Mick McCarthy might say.
Get over yourselves.
The real niggle is SUFC is being badly managed at the moment.
Let's stop blaming the messengers.

There is a cavernous difference between 'badly managed' and 'badly managed according to Lenners'.

You'll find Swiss that I was having a go at the club when we signed Walton for reasons that are very obvious given his past history. Nothing to do with attacking Blackwell now he has got injured. I am fed up with watching a side full of has beens that never were and loanees. Unfortunately, it is not as easy to walk away as Jim would like everyone to believe - in fact I can;t believe his opinion that a criticism of Blackwell - however persistent - means that people should stop watching. No chance - I still get plenty of enjoyment out of following SUFC.

Exactly. Surely there is some form of insurance for cases like this.

And that's fine, you're fully entitled to a different opinion.
I said the signing of Walton and it's outcome was symbolic of where we're at and I think that's right. You're fully entitled to think otherwise.
The lack of planning and organisation this summer seems obvious to me but you're fully entitled to think the summer's been well handled.
I think the drop in crowds will be the most obvious sign of our club being badly managed but you're entitled to think it represents something else.
It's a football forum, people have different opinions but I do think that some of this alleged standard of debate stuff is really down to most people being fed up of United at the moment. It's not unusual for people to be in denial about United.

Some great posts here! Feels like the voices of reason have finally rallied to take back the internet...

I'm with you completely here Jim. I understand that supporters can be unhappy with aspects of how the club is run, I get that completely and share some of their concerns myself. What I don't get are the people (and I'm not aiming this at any particular poster or posters on this forum but at our fanbase in general) who seem to want this club to fail to vindicate their own pessimism. I've ended up moving season ticket seats because watching a game with the constant snide criticism and sniping at the players and management by these people have just made it an unbearable way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Before I get the "I pay my money I can boo if i want" response - yes of course you can voice your opinion but when it's done consistantly, from the first minute to the last or before anything actually worth complaining about has actually happened it's just moronic. I've no doubt that when Kozzy first steps on to the pitch at the Lane this season he will be boo'ed by a minority of fans before he's even touched the ball, there are sections of the support which are not completely happy unless they're able to hurl abuse at their club.

I understand that people may be unhappy with some aspects of the club but when someone seems to see fault in everything the club says and does... as Jim said... why do they even bother? Get behind the team and cheer them on and the team WILL play better....... UTB!!!
