That was like a training game, bit strange really.

Atmosphere a bit flat I thought, almost like we're all just waiting for the game that can get us promoted.

I was surprised there were only 20k there too.

Until we started pissing about at 2-0 we were totally and utterly in control but they had a spell towards the end.

Helps that they were woeful.

Another 3 points towards promotion and heaps the pressure back on Bolton even if they have got a gimme on Saturday.

Roll on the day in between Tuesday and Thursday.

Yeah they were much worse than I thought they'd be, seem to have half an eye on the beach.

As you say, we were in total control until we'd decided we'd won without needing to try at the end.

Truth be told, I felt the same about the first goal, the corners had the defence rocking and it seemed a matter of time.

As indeed it turned out to be.

That was a regulation two nil win with little threat. How great is that given our situation?

Tonight was a strange mixture of very satisfying and very frustrating.

The 2-0 win is absolutely perfect. By far and away the main thing to focus on. A great result, a big result. We're basically promoted, after years of shite! Fantastic!

We were totally superior, we cut them apart with our passing and deserved to be 2-0 up. We completely controlled the game and they didn't threaten once.

But after that we really stepped off the gas, and let them back into the game. They didn't have to be be particularly good, we just dropped off mentally and physically, settled for 2-0, lumped it to Hanson far too often and tried to play out the last 25 minutes in 2nd gear, even wasting time in the process, which many of the fans bizarrely seemed to approve of. That was frustrating.

Also frustrating was Wilder not changing anything up front. Hanson should have been taken off, the ball wasn't sticking, we had no movement and our strikers were the main reason behind a lot of Millwall's attacking opportunities. Hanson generally frustrated me tonight - he again gave the ball away which led to a good chance for the opposition. I'm growing tired of seeing him in the team.

The other frustrating part is our support. It wasn't bad tonight but not what you'd expect at a time when a team giving us everything we've wanted for years is on the verge of getting us promoted. What annoyed me most though was the number of people leaving early. I just don't get it at all. At least we got the Justin Bieber concert experience with the flashlights though, that was totally amazing.

Yeah, we sat back and made it a dull finish, but in spite of their possession they never had me worried. I'd rather see us going for goal number three but it was a very professional performance and a comfortable win.

For me, the way we went for this game from the off shows the players now LOVE playing at the Lane. Didn't sound like there was any nerves, just a hunger to get the win, knowing the fans are behind them. Last season i know for a fact the team did not like playing at the Lane at all, think Adkins said us fans make it difficult or some bollox. Anyway, next season the Lanes gonna be rockin i tell thi!

Agree with the OP. Very unusually slow paced game between 2 teams with a lot to play for. Ultimately it worked more to our advantage.

I would be very disappointed to be a Millwall fan tonight. Surely they are also desperate to get out of this horrid league and they didn't look up for it at all.

I also expected them to bring a few more fans as well.

Hanson had a very good game, and gave there defence a torrid time. He only gave the ball away once. Curuthers gave the ball away more when he came on for the last 25 mins.

20k would have been a decent crowd earlier in the season, but in our current position it was a bit disappointing. Not sure why. There was no footie on TV and the weather as decent. Maybe some people are saving their cash for our final three away games. Rumours of Millwall's "flag day" may have put a few off but in the end they only brought around 200 fans.

Folk leaving early winds me up as well, but each to their own I suppose. But, what really fucks me off is that those that leave their seats early merely stand along the walkway and exit at the bottom of the kop and watch the last few minutes from there - all this does is make it slower for every other fucker to get out who have stayed in their seats till the final whistle and applauded the lads off. If you want to leave early, that's fine, but just fucking leave will you!

I thought Ckarke would have been a better option after an hour, the mis control that set up Millwall for an attack was ridiculous. However, I think he left Hanson on for his defensive prescence more than anything. When Millwall brought O'Brien on they really had some big lads on the park and started lumping it more. That definitely contributed to him staying on.

And on that - while O'Connel was motm, a tip of the hat for Bash in that second half. Made two crucial headed clearances in that last 15 minutes, one from a corner was goal saving. In fact the back 3 was brilliant tonight, our best combination for me.

Just back.and biggest pain in the arse are the folk who are up and down all feckin game.....then take their bloody time while they are at it. Arrrive ten minutes in...up again 10 mins later....then back.out again at half time...back again.random stand for five minutes, then up and all up again.....Jesus Christ what the ficus is up with folk.

Then with the team 2 up....top of the league, can't even stay til the end to applaud the lads off. I don't get it.....really annoys me.

Alright, it seemed to fall apart a bit when Duffy went off, but to say we weren't much better than Millwall is absolute rubbish. I sit near the away fans and their noise usually indicates how well their team are doing. After ten minutes, not a squeak. That tells me everything.

Can't agree personally.

While we were comfortable in the first half I've seen us play much much better. We barely created anything and I felt a lot of what we tried just didn't come off.

We seem to give the ball a lot and lacked urgency.

At half time we said let's hope we come out a bit better 2nd half.

I'd say they were quiet because they were terrible and brought about 3 fans.
