Well with Brayford and Woolford now gone along with the other overpaid wasters over the summer the wage bill has to be as low as its been for a long time.

We've got the Adams money (which admittedly a big wedge of has just been spent on the keeper) and space on the wage bill so there has to be more incomings. Is he still after a centre half or is he going to give Wright a chance? will he replace the beard or go with what he's got? Is he still after a dominating central midfielder?

Whatever this squad will then be Wilders as he'll have got rid of a first 11 and bought one. No excuses, time to deliver, let's hope we aren't too far behind by the time it all starts to take shape.

Well we now also need to buy a right back! Unless we have one hidden in the academy.

With 500k gone on a keeper, after we buy a full back it doesn't leave a lot for a centre half, a midfielder and a pact striker!

We must have had money to spend before che and brayford went. We made bids before this clear out.
Haven't we got rid of 9 or 10 players now as well?

Never mind the wage bill Foxy and Linz have got three boxes of Beard T-shirts to shift on eBay in the Fleetwood area

@chrisbirchys13 Don't know exact figures mate but told wages at Burton will be subsidized by us yes.

Soon we will have one of the lower wage bills in the league which will be impressive. We are doing all we can to cement ourselves as a League One outfit
That would be a relief - I felt the 2 beckoning. 24th tomorrow??

We are already cemented in as a league 1 outfit . The name of the game is remaining in league 1 this season.

Very easy to drop down a division before it hits you in the face .

UTB

So to make things worse, after moving on our right back we now have to buy a replacement and are not even saving his full salary.
So this suggests all that we will be able to do, is use some of the budget we desperately needed to fund new midfield players and a centre half to buy a right back....and after adding that to the budget we will basically only just be about even!

Staggered.....we let Brayford go late August and all we will do is replace with a worse player and be no better off!

I think the pressure is beginning to be felt already

To be honest that's hardly news and was commented on on here earlier. Anyone who thought Burton would be paying all his wages is in cloud cuckoo land.

Why the feck not?

They are a championship side with lower costs and wages than us. Why should we subsidise a team in the much more lucrative league above? Clough couldn't pull a coupe like that for us he paid £2M and high wages ffs who's negotiating for us? Bet we've thrown the Beard t-shirts in as well

Because it's a money saving excercise as much as anything else. The money we are saving on JB will be going towards Moores wages. Lots of people post incessantly about the board being total fuck ups when it comes to negotiations and then expect them to fly in the face of financial reason and getting Burton to pay ten grand a week for Brayford.

So what's gonna change this mess? It's becoming clear to all where the problem lies but while ever we are pulling in 19k per week I don't see how we change course. We look to be stuck in this death by a thousand cuts nightmare for the foreseeable future

We're fucked. Nothing will change as there is nobody waiting in the wings. If some manager does somehow manage to get a good squad together the best parts of that squad will be one by one sold before they can reach their potential with us. There really is no hope of improvement in our current state.

What's this "good squad" of which you speak?
