As per thread title.

Can only assume the "journalist" who wrote this has experienced a visit from the Prince's goons, who are paying menacing visits to those in the media to persuade them to write favorable pieces on Souza to up the price we get for him.

Also on the list are Hamer, Arblaster and Berge (who is described as a "towering presence", which is accurate, so long as he isn't jumping)

this is the advantage with the increase in stats usage in football and some will be driven by stats and convinced by them.

It doesn’t make them qualified when it comes to the eye test.

Hopefully plenty of these stat guys are all over Vini and we get our money back or even a profit.

It seems a lot of fans in the modern era base their opinion of a player entirely on stats. I see it a lot on Twitter - idiot FIFA players throwing out someone's average rating on FotMob as undeniable proof that he's amazing/the worst player in the world (because it has to be one or the other).

Ridiculous that they publish that kind of stuff in The Guardian. I would strongly suspect the writer has never watched any of those players in the flesh.

Ssh ! Now is the time to keep quiet.

The article is brilliant news ...

Third most tackles in the PL - let's have £15m for him
I once played in a charity match and was surprised to see former pig Andy McCulloch on the other team.
I challenged him 300 times in that game and lost all 300

Surely this is good news? Neutrals away from SUFC rating Souza high?!

BTW the article is spot on.. 10m he's yours anyone.

Souza is very underrated, he's the future of the Brazilian team, whoever buys him will get one he'll of a player, any bid top side of £20m will be a bargain in a few years, if I were a premiership manager I'd want to sign him

Any of these stats are useful, you've just got to be intelligent enough to put them into context. Using a raw count of tackles stat without looking at the context of Vini playing in a team where if they have 30% possession it's a good day would be beyond ridiculous. That said, at the same time, you've got to look forward and ask what a player can do for you in the future. Could well be that there are teams that look at the attributes that Souza has and think that they would be much better suited to their team in 24/25 onwards than what they were for us in 23/24. It's a pretty common mistake to make, you only need to look at the number of people here who will look at one of our players, give a universal "he's shit and will always be shit, for whoever, wherever and whenever" rather than "he was shit for us this season, but does he have value for us in the Championship?"

I feel like I might be in a minority here but I don't get the negativity around vinnie. This seasons been a car crash defensively and playing in his position and amongst it would have been bewildering for most.
It possibly sucked the energy out of him by the end but I'd like him here next season . We've lacked physicality for years and whilst he's not been outstanding by any measure he's got enough and possibly more than who we'd replace him with . If he gets moved on good luck to the lad

just perhaps theyve had lomger to write about our departing players as we were relegated a while ago

one thread accusing the prince of robbing us now one saying hes getting as much money as possible with menaces

all of this speculation claptrap stems from agents
for obvious reasons

theres not one player that hasnt had an offer tendered according to "reliable" sources
