Are you for real? You obviously haven’t see Villa’s scatter gun approach to transfers over the past 2 seasons! They stayed up last year and were incredibly fortunate doing so spending 3 or 4 times what we spent!

It's not about them being better than us or wanting to play like them as such - it's more about the fact that they are having a successful time against the Champions because they are playing in a positive manner. Which we haven't done, certainly today.

I think we’re ok as we are. We have bad games. They have good games.
Our strength is we’re not a peaks and troughs team. Smashing a team one week and then getting trounced the next. Villa did well to stay up, we finished poorly.
We’ll do better than Villa Over the season.

Last season they just went out and bought anyone probably because they believed their squad was not good enough.
This season they have added proven quality and Ross Barkley will be a game changer for them.

And clearly they have bought a star in the making in Watkins too.

They managed to keep hold of the best English creative midfielder and then added another England midfielder to an area of the pitch in which they were already strong with the likes of McGinn. We, not least from our promotions under Wilder, know full well the importance of a top midfield.
And, having had their enormous stroke of luck last season when, by rights, they should have gone down, they now find themselves well-equipped for this farce of a season where games have become a test of who has the greatest fire-power. Defences - where they are still weak - are almost irrelevant.

If we keep playing as we have done today, we certainly aren't OK as we are. We have to create more and we have to be more progressive. I'm not advocating wholesale changes, massive change in style, anything like that. This isn't a post of panic, more of disappointment because we know we can do so much better but we to have lost the plot somewhat going forward. You can't argue with one goal and one goal only so far this season unfortunately.
