WBA seem to have a lot of older players that are stealing a paycheck...Livermore, Pieters etc. I've never seen so many passes go for throwins.

They were saying on the sky commentary that they seem like a club that needs to have a clear out. I'd agree, they look like they have a couple of players stealing a living.

Thanks Roy! No surprise in these comments because let's face it they're a terrible side.
Full marks for " no great shakes".
Maybe we ought to run a book on how many times that gets said about us this season.

“Interesting from Sheff Utd boss Heckingbottom post-match, who revealed an image posted on Albion’s social media channels gave the Blades a big Carlos Corberan formation clue ahead of today’s clash.”

What‘s this all about., totally missed this one?
Some sunhiji bloke who posts on their forums apparently 🤣

Presume it's this video of their training session, released by their own media team, that's helped us figure out their formation

Yep, the message is clear. "Defend like this yellow guy here!" 😁

But seriously, there was a whole section where the back line are practising how to keep their shape, so this would probably be the biggest clue.

This. Even Mick McCarthy suggested it on commentary. Squads can go stale - getting shut of players can matter as much as signings.

It looked partly like a confidence issue and partly a basic lack of zip in the team. They obviously have good players, but lack intensity and edge.

Funny when the Sky commentary referred to McBurnie's 'dummy' that led to our first goal

Cheers Roy, as always, great work👍
And a bang average Sheff U into 4th, and with a game in hand over the top 2 and the second best GD in the league, not all bad.

Pre match view:

“Im anticipating a great atmosphere on Saturday. Tough game, but a great opportunity for the players to show fresh commitment, spirit and passion. I’ve a feeling that we will see some exuberance from Carlos !”

They booed them off at half time. They couldn't even support and encourage their players for more than 45 minutes 🤣🤣🤣

Boing boing SPLAT !!! 🤣

West Brom are going to take some sorting out most teams do when they’ve had a manager like Valerien Ismael we had a similar scenarios when we had Dave Bassett the Pigs same with Wilkinson I could go on, the football purists like to build play from the back keeping the ball where as a long ball team use defenders to defend only, Paul Stancliffe‘s podcast explains it well.

Yes they were poor ... that’s because we were on the front foot from the start , pressing them with good tempo .. funny how half the fans of the sides we’ve played this season fail to recognise this when we’re on it .. good professional performance yesterday .. let’s see if we can build in it with 2 tough games this week ⚔️

Cheers Panchero!

In a WhatsApp exchange that crossed when we scored, Trig Jnr (TY) and I both said exactly that, an example of the apple not falling far from the tree 🙂

Sacked Steve Bruce and got worse. That's a first
That should feature in the next season of "stranger things"......however people may think it is a little too far fetched

They took there chances and did nothing else

Didn’t know Garth Crookes was a West Brom fan

Genius - would love to know the theory behind that comment

McCarthy made quite a few interesting comments and I liked it when he said “I agree Don but” and then disagreed with him.

I think West Brom are in a similar situation to us in that they have a lot of senior players who are probably on good money, who they can’t sell, because PL clubs aren’t interested and championship clubs are still recovering from Covid. You don’t get too many big moves between championship clubs anymore.
From memory, they spent to get back up but when they did, I think Bilic’s transfer budget was £25m. That’s not enough to give you a realistic chance of staying up. That’s fair enough if the owners accept that but instead, they sacked him.

Everything they’ve done since is indicative of a club being run by owners who don’t really know what they’re doing. They don’t seem to have any real idea of what the club is, there’s little continuity between Bilic, Ismael, Bruce and now Corberan. The only similarities are that the last three play very dull football (Ismail’s was exciting when it worked but tedious when it doesn’t). Bruce is looking like he’s done and ready for retirement, Ismail and Corberan took teams to the playoffs but lost. Other than being available for free, there isn’t much in favour of them.

I expect them to improve under Corberan but I’d be surprised if they challenge for promotion again in the forthcoming years. Not under the current ownership.

Diangana & Grant are decent strikers at this level, and they've supplemented them with Swift & Wallace who were standout players with their previous clubs.
But their defence & midfield are mid-level Championship cloggers and many of them are getting on. Not sure how Livermore still starts for them - he makes Norwood look like Usain Bolt!

Unless Hecky was in the trees with some step ladders.

The comment saying we won't go up based on what. Wba are in serious danger of going down apart from Matt Philips they were toothless
