Love this. They have a total loser mentality nowadays:
- 'At least we didn't get battered, lads'
- 'I'll take a 1-0 defeat all day long'
- 'Our boys did us proud today'
- 'We looked OK at times'
It's absolutely embarrassing. It's like a League 2 team has drawn a Premier League team in the cup - they're happy to even be sharing a pitch with us.
All of them ignoring the fact that we're now 13 points clear of them (it's November), they have finished above us in the pyramid 6 times in 24 years, our stadium is miles better, our academy is streets ahead, we have more money, we get bigger crowds, and we have better (and younger) players.
It must have been a harrowing experience for the pigs yesterday. First they would've arrived in the stadium and realised it was on another level to their decaying 1980s rustbucket. Then they had to sit through a montage of their avalanche of derby defeats over the years. Then they had to sit there as we paraded players on the pitch (including one who used to play for them) who gave them an absolute pasting at their own place a few years ago. Then they had to sit through 90 minutes (in total silence) without a shot on target, with their team looking a bunch of hopeless, clumsy cloggers. Then they had to stay in the stadium whilst the home fans celebrated yet another win against them.
If that were me, I would mark it down as one of the darkest days of following my club. Not celebrating because we didn't get battered.
