I said to the Mrs. after an hour that you could walk in the park on a Sunday morning and see games played at a similar standard to that game today. We had a bit more energy and one or two ran about a bit and got some tackles in. We were better with and without the ball against a team that I honestly think would be lucky to get a draw at Stocksbridge Park Steels. I'll take the win all day long but fuck me Watford were crap. Imagine coming all that way to see that, all the time knowing that when the final whistle blows you have to go back to one of the biggest shit holes on earth. Watford, what's the point?

It was a really poor advert for Championship football, but we deserved the win.

They were absolutely shocking, to have their keeper and centre half tackled by Campbell on the byline following a short goal kick and to still persist with said goal kicks was laughable.

One of them says that they improved at defending set plays, I’d have loved to have seen them before because it was only our lack of aptitude in the opposition box meaning that we didn’t score 3 or 4 from long throws or corners.

That manager will be gone before the turkeys are carved in December.

We are bad at the moment but they are a true joke of a club.

Decent following from them if that’s what they’ve got to look forward to - they were rubbish & no wonder they’re miserable.
Their number 10 looked a decent player though.

But but but but Watford have a DOF and an infrastructure that supports a head coach model, so they can play some wonderful football and devastating attacking football. The DOF takes all the non footballing decisions away from the coach so they can concentrate on what really matters, the product on the pitch. The DOF coordinates the orchestra behind them, sets policy, pulls all the strings and makes the place a utopian village to thrive within. It’s got to be the way a modern football club runs, hasn’t it? Players selected by agents and the head coach melds them into an unstoppable force.

That’s the way it works, isn’t it?

Watford are fairly unique in their management recruitment model though

And not in a good way…

Nah
They’ve just implemented the Crabby Industries methodology of the same thing. 😉
Tell that to Big Vern, he’s been a key figure for years at Crab Industries - although to be fair I heard a rumour that Crabcorp wanted to remove him from his position but he ‘persuaded’ the board to keep him on (rumours of him turning up to the meeting with a baseball bat are as yet unproven)…

A fair set of comments.

I've seen some understandable enthusiasm after we registered our first win, but I have to agree with what most of the Watford fans said...
It was two poor teams competing, both looked bottom half. Result could've gone either way and nobody could've had many complaints.

Watford are at the end of their tether with their owners, calling out their lack of football knowledge.
Ours managed to dismantle something very good in rapid time.

The previous manager was supposedly fired for refusing to use players signed by a particular agent. 2 played yesterday: that big number 9 who isn’t very good, and Sissoko, who the fans hate - you saw the reaction when he was subbed.

Australians of my acquaintance have been raving about the lad who plays for Watford who has scored some good goals this season for club and country. After about 20 mins I realised it was their number 66, who looked overweight and feigned injury at every opportunity. Not impressed.

That number 66 was a proper cunt. At one point I think even their manager was screaming at him to get up. Thankfully, he was also useless.

Cheers Panchero!

Money, money and more money.
That’s the way it works.

If you can’t spot that and still think the appointment of one man with ultimate powers delivers all that, then 🤦‍♂️
