Good point of us being patient , as we have been getting above our station with , ifs , buts , and maybes .

Some fans tempt fate , and think we just have to turn up to win

UTB

It was clear Sheff United had come with arrogance and hadnt the foggiest about our tactics.

Seems fans from both sides observed that Bos

Nice set of fans in the main maybe, but at least one of them is a ravin' loony!!
And some people think WE'RE being a tad too hopeful!!

"In my mind this is either a massive piece of wallpaper or the catalyst to push us into either the top 6 or even the top 2.”

Since they beat us at the end of November, they've won 1 in 6 league matches:eek:
it really is a bit of a pisser....

Thanks Roy and having been there today I think their fans comments are fair, the more adventurous smarter and more tactically aware team won.

We had lots of possession and get forward to the edge of their box quick enough but when we get there we just go sideways and fiddle about on the wings and it all comes to nothing. By contrast they drew us onto them and then tried to hit us quickly and make fast inroads into our box and got their just rewards. Their keeper was superb today, didn't put a foot wrong, I'd have him without hesitation, worth 15 points a season, ours had a mare and I worry he may have the Long syndrome.

Several teams have sussed how to nullify our 3-5-2 set up, draw us onto them get our wing back up high and then pinch the ball and get forward to our box quickly while we have few to defend it. We make it easy for them by just going sideways on the edge of their box, they just have to be patient and nick it when they can. No decent movement in our box and no little balls to play anyone in like they did. Billy didn't do much that was threatening today, nor at Southend, but can't fault his effort.

I didn't go yesterday but your comments make total sense to me.

The way to play us -Counter attack ,no space between the lines, play fast breaks in behind the advanced wing backs. We have small strikers so playing across the face of their defence with hopeful crosses from out wide can be futile. Coutts and Fleck have to create more through the middle if Duffy is shackled. I think Lavery and Sharp do move well but the opportunities are often wasted by the slow build up.

I was worried we would miss Lafferty's solidity and positional sense and maybe we did.

Can't they just be happy with a good win instead of dwelling on the ref's performance?

I think refs should be fair game when they are rubbish whether you win or lose. Equally praise the few that are good.

They were very happy about everything in life yesterday, apart from the crap ref.

And Hull Shitty at Boothferry Park in 1983-84 season when we went up against them knowing we were already promotion rivals. Went one down early doors, Morris equalised, and we went looking for a winner before a late 20 minute collapse saw us lose 4-1. Today reminded me of thay long ago game. Fact is we still went up though.

A blip today. It will get sorted by CW. Utd will be worthy champions come the seasons end i have no doubts.

My first ever away game, aged 12.

The biggest surprise from their comments is that they didn't seem over surprised by the victory, maybe by the size of it,but not that they beat us !! The league table would suggest that we are the best team at the moment, but do Walsall see something otherwise, more worryingly are they right?

There just as surprised as us, a one off and they know it
