Very annoying that the opposition have been sneaking around and spying on us. Don't they know they are expected to lose? That scoreline still gives me bad dreams btw

'Whitney deserves a lot of credit for going 3-5-2. This negated the blunts tactic of having wingers wide to stretch the defence and then switching the play so the opposing winger has space. Our plan worked well'

“That was the most one-sided (for the other team) game that we’ve won that I’ve seen in a long time"

"Unfortunately most of the action was at the far end of the pitch to us so I can’t really comment on most of the decisions"

That kind of sums up the game because Without sounding like Jurgen Klopp, i put last night walsall are most defensive side ive seen more long while, they parked the bus to such extent. I would say they no interest in attacking just 10 men around the penalty box. As the only attack i can remember was the goal, which was a long goal kick & walsall player stretched managed to get a toe on.

It shows how blinkered fans can be that majority are delighted with the 3pts in that fashion, we have been guilty of that but difference was we were playing £260m+ man utd side at old trafford not a team worth less than a million in the same league. But hey shows how ambitious they are

“According to The Blades forum they shouldn’t be losing to ‘the likes of Walsall’.

Not sure the feeling is we shouldn't be loosing to the likes of Walsall. Pretty sure it's we shouldn't be loosing games of football that we've completely dominated from start to finish, had 2 goals disallowed (1 perfectly fine btw) and missed a penalty.

The cheeky bastards.

I didn't see Lambert (if he was there, he'll probably let us have EEL for free) but Kevin Davies (in a Blades scarf) and Stuart McCall were there.
Was Davies spying for Bolton? in any case what's he doing in our directors box hes never done anything for us..Red and white scarf ,was he speaking with a folked tongue or is he a real blade ?

Played for our youth team and was released.

I thought our luck had run out when they got the penalty ( was it O’Connor’s arm/hand?) but thankfully Sharpe(?) had been taking lessons from Don Givens!”

Ouch!

Sharp tekkin lessons from Don Givens :(

That's a few he's missed Ken, as we both agreed last night, maybe time for Duffy, Fleck (sure he could ping it before the GK could guess) or whoever felt confident enough. I also worry that continual misses might affect Billy's confidence so give the fella a rest from this responsibility

I think you may have said this on another thread. Watch it again - very classy ball over the defence by Oztumer.

I gotta be honest, I genuinely lolled quite a lot when Walsall scored. Cheeky bastards.

Teams coming to the lane to play for a draw and nicking a win really grind my gears.

Before the penalty was taken I said that of course we have form for missing a late penalty at home to Walsall, 1981 being a case in point. Unsurprisingly, that reference went over the heads of my two, born 1984 and 1986.

Although last night typified SUFC in a number of ways, flattering to deceive, dominating and then failing to capitalise on a game in hand, it really barely registered on the all time Blades scale of disappointment.

"the all time Blades scale of disappointment"

There aren't enough servers in the world to host that one.

The thread to end all threads with 'being a Blade' and the 'meaning of life' all rolled into one.

Let's just move on for now and hope that no-one saw that, shhhhhhhhh!

Cheers as always Roy..

Depressing thing is that we may well be reading two Walsall "View Froms" again next season as well.
:(

Read a few comments from Walsall fans and can't stomach to read anymore. The few I've read are along the lines of them deserving to win for hanging in there. Bullshit ffs they won because they're spawny twats and the ref was a cunt. Still pissed off about last night tbf!
