Miserable buggers but also some fair points. They probably should have had a pen and RND been sent off so we were fortunate. Missed the red and highlights don't include so can't comment.

Campbell looked good and my mom (first half doesn't count we were terrible).

Onwards and upwards. Thanks Roy

Uncle Susan just said their comments are like the first bum encounter he had.
Regretful, but a release that was needed to progress with the pain of being able to handle a shit life 56 months of the year.

The ref was shite both ways, they were predictably ‘Swansea-ish’ toothless mid-table shite. We gave them a goal head start with one of the worst halves of football we’ve had in recent Championship history then put a bit of pace on and ran through them. Could have been 3 or 4 in the 2nd half.

Agree I think it was a penalty to them and a yellow card (which would have meant a yellow card, a 2nd yellow and sending off to RND.
However the number of times you see the player staying upright and deciding to shoot and refs do NOT give a penalty.
It shouldn’t be needed but players need to go down when nudged…then I think the ref would have given a penalty.

The red was 50/50, it was accidental and not malicious but it looked bad and this day and age most refs would probably give a red.
Put it this way if they have given a yellow, then they would have been really lucky.

Bet Swansea must absolutely hate playing us.

Last season, didn’t Khadra score an injury time winner.

This season we were crap at Bramall Lane, they totally dominated us in the 1st half.
Don’t think we even had a shot, then we score from a fluke own goal.
2nd half we were better but couldn’t score, so we won 1-0 but it wasn’t convincing.

We put in our worse half of the season tonight, shockingly bad as though the players had just met.
Incredibly after a generally dodgy display, we still end up winning the game. I suppose that what good teams do.

I thought it was a penalty at first but you watch it back and RND is barely touching him. Then you see their lad just grabbing a big chunk of RND's shirt hoping that he will make decent contact for him to go down. It would have been a very soft penalty to give. They also wanted one for Peck's handball but that was a deflection off his body on to his arm, so not a penalty.

That said I do think if RND had stayed on he was going to get himself a another yellow because he couldn't keep up with their lad on the wing.

No pen he is leaning in all the time looking for it

Had their player gone down that would have been a pen, and likely a red for RND, but he stays on his feet and tries to get a goal so you can't just give a penalty and red card because he misses.

Truthfully it is a slightly harsh red for Darling (for what seems to be a red card these days) as it doesn't look as bad on replay, but it was late, think Brewster staying down helps make the refs mind up though.

I think the red card for Darling was correct, dangerous tackle even if it was clearly accidental. Our pen was a pen all day long.

I can see why they are pissed off at the ref, but he was pretty consistently bad if we're being honest. At the end he gave them a goal kick when it clearly came off their player, and a few times throw ins given the same. Seemed intent on stopping the game and not letting it flow with some soft decisions, perhaps he was worried about player welfare due to pitch conditions? Worst pitch I've seen in a long time at this level - reminds me of bramall lane back in the early 2000's when I first started attending.

That said, take nothing away from Wilder and the players. Terrible first half performance but no messing from Wilder, he rang the changes at half time and whatever he said to them worked. Much better second half.

It's said that the difference between a side that wins titles/promotion and the rest is games like last night where you have to dig deep, ride your luck and grind out results!

I'll also add a final observation that this season just feels different to when we went up under Hecky. Under Hecky I just never, ever felt convinced by either our performances or our team spirit. This bunch feel like a very tight unit and I've had loads of deja vu moments of the 18/19 promotion season - the Tom Davies goal vs Sunderland gave me memries of Basham arriving.

‘Yeah,Wilder is anti football‘

😂😂 fuck me, he was being lauded across the country as a tactical genius with pundits spunking their pants at how we played a few years ago.

Wish we could play possession dominating football, lose most weeks and sit mid table.
Such a strange comment from their fan. Wilder is anti losing in this league, second half we played some really nice stuff - Hamer, Campbell and Brewster all linking up well having passed our way forwards

The halves were night and day, Wilder being Anti football made 3 positive changes at halftime, with RND having had yet another terrible half. This smart fan came out with this pearler:

“If RND had stayed on it would have ended 10 v 10”
That’s exactly why we took him off. He’d had a shocker and was booked, was lucky not to concede a pen when trying to drag their man down. Their man stayed on his feet though but for some strange reason the ref didn’t pull it back for a pen and second booking for RND since their man got no advantage from staying on his feet

The ref seemed quick to give yellows to both sides. Ronald for them, Anel and Hamer for us, all could’ve easily got a second yellow. But for some reason the ref became lenient once they were booked

Our pen was spot on, their red card I wasn’t sure whether he was late for that tackle or early for the next one. Horrendously late and seem high. Just clumsy but a red all the same.

Nice to see us change the game so positively. It wasn’t a game for brooks and it certainly wasn’t one for RND

Cheers Roygbiv that was an enjoyable read I must say. Admittedly the first half from us was awful RND was all over the shop but I don't think it was a penalty the Swansea player had a huge chunk of RND's shirt which probably make up the ref's mind it was 50/50. Fair enough to say the challenge on Brewster was late two buses had gone before their player arrived and our penalty was nailed on every day of the week. I don't know what the sheep shaggers have to moan about other than watching tippy tappy crap that sees them mid table every season. Wilder changed the gamed at HT with the subs, could have hooked just about anyone but RND was a red card waiting to happen he is so far off the pace it is untrue. Anyways screw Swansea.

You can taste the bitterness .. lovely …. The only comment of any note which reflected the game was

‘’Sheff Utd came out like they’d had a rocket up their arses and we came out like the half time Lucozade had been spiked with Tramadol.”

We were bloody awful the first 45 but the 3 subs & a half time bollocking turned that game ⚔️

They can't have no complaints regarding the ref. No way was it a pen from RND as mentioned their lad had hold of his shirt halfway up him pulling him all over the place, which is likely to have been spotted as you couldn't miss it, so it was 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other, RND put just enough pressure on him to put him off but not enough for him to go down.

Their red card was late and high, if he caught him cleanly brewster would have been knee capped.

Our penalty was clear and obvious, the lad got caught wrong side of his man and got done for pace he shoved him in the back with no intentions of the ball.

Referee made the right calls on the big moments - he was poor all game, giving soft freekicks for them and the ins n outs was dubious at times. Not to mention ridiculous offside when hamer would have been through (lino) flagging for Campbell who had not interfered.

Cheers roy, in some ways they are right, they should have had a pen and rnd sent off, but they didnt , it happens all the time , need to man up. But great result ,poor performance onwards and upwards

😆 - Swansea’s best performance comes in during the worst 45mins since Arsenal at home last season. It was definitely more us being bad than them being good, as the second half showed. If you don’t take your chances you’re fucked. Their chance was the whole of the first half and they only got one goal. We could’ve had 4 second half.

Yes we are a rubbish set of anti football, Northern cloggers but, we are top of the league and would be 4 points clear if it wasn’t for the -2points!!!! So, what are the rest of em like then 🤔

Without looking are they slagging off the referee lots and calling us rubbish cheats?

Umpteenth. Cheers Roy

Thank you, Roy, we got away with one (again) but it's no fluke, it's the team and squad that epitomises what United is all about to us fans. Thank you Chris Wilder.

Also, well done to the travelling support. Long journey on a January Tuesday night.
