Sunderland have won precisely zero major trophies in my lifetime. Why squabble or brag about vacuous notions of "bigger club" when right now today they're in League One? I know I never did when we were there.

Well they have in mine, PokerBlade, and very famously so thanks in a large part to a former manager of ours.

But we already agree that bragging about being a big club when you're grubbing along at level 3 is not something to be proud of.

If 70% of the top flight aren't going to take it seriously, is it time for the League Cup to go?

I'm not gonna give it arrogance because we're now in the Prem. I hated that attitude when we were in League One. Well done Sunderland, hope you make it back up where you belong.

Dont know why but the comment about not selling out last season really cuts deep... Prob because it's true...

We effectively sold out against Bristol City and Ipswich - the vast majority of the remaining 2k seats for both those games were in the away section.

We were the 5th best supported club in the Championship last season - above the likes of Norwich, Stoke, WBA and the pigs. Of the 4 who had higher averages, all but Villa were were from one team cities.

We are certainly one of the top 20 best supported clubs in the country - not midtable Championship level as the Sunderland comment claimed.

As has been said on other threads. 200k for winning the league cup or 200mil for staying in the top division. Where is the incentive to do well in the cup?

The Fans!! I paid good money to watch United last night and I think fans deserve value for money.
