Still remember a first game of the season at Elm Park. Hottest game I ever remember being at

First game of 96/97, another false dawn season when we were going to romp promotion under Kendall, lost 1-0, nearest we got was when Whitehouse hit t' crossbar. Always thing of Clough's 14/15 season in a similar vein ... wasted opportunity.

Why is it always the shitty little clubs that don't seem to appreciate they were beaten by the better team? Brentford and Barnsley were the same.

Cheeky bastards best ref I've seen in years got almost everything right down to booking Brooks for flicking the ball into their keeper's face after the whistle had blown. Laughed my socks off and called it before it happened. Worth it though.

5 mins?!
And that free kick in first half (to us) have three goes at it lads.
Ref was poor for me

A somewhat introspective set of views to be honest. Little about how fabulous a footballing team we were. Keep them coming. The over bloated La Liga massives still haven't quite got us yet. Fine, we'll keep plugging away, running rings round them until we're clear and away at the top, then finally, when they realise it'll be too late.

Still early days but hope we can achieve automatic. If we lose a PO then it's asking a lot of Wilder and Knill next season.
I think winning the playoffs is actually possible with these two in charge.

Second half, Reading defender does two two-handed shoves in Billy’s back then gets him in a headlock and spins him round. Drop ball.

You were saying?

Seem to remember someone should have been sent off or we should have had a penalty for a foul on Andy Walker. That and it stinking of piss

“Can’t help but feel very deflated after seeing us limp to a 2-1 defeat while Huddersfield go and beat Man Utd and record the biggest win in their history.

This is what gets me about the M4 corridor teams, they think history started in the 1980s under Margaret Thatcher when they got airlines sponsoring them and WE got sacked.

Huddersfield won the effing league three times on the trot didn't they?

Fo me Reading isn't a team, nor is it a town, its something I do to gain knowledge - I suggest they do the same.

“The football is infinitely better than most of what we watched under Adkins”

At least he didn't lumber them with an overpaid, surplus to requirements over the hill midfielder when he left. Every cloud an' all that..

I think their comments on the whole are reasonable.

I expected more comments about them not making more of their 15 minutes or so domination in the second half. Instead they seem grounded enough to look at the rest of the game.

No criticism from me. Seen far more mardy comments this season already.

Exactly. Reading is a tin pot town with little or no football history and yet, somehow, the latest breed of fuckwits from that awful place think that they are somehow superior to clubs like us. They're about to find out the reality.

I've always equated Reading with Slough and, as John Betjeman rightly said -

" Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough
It isn't fit for humans now "

Loved reading the analytical thoughtful comments of proper footballing fans from a proper footballing town, Wolverhampton
...........then you get this from fecking Reading.

The view from Bramall Lane.
Oddly, their performance for the first 75 minutes reminded me of us under Adkins. Disengaged and clueless.

I don't doubt we have momentum as most losing to us point out , but the lack of admission we play really good football from some is really annoying. Got to say channel 5 are giving us some kudos for our efforts. Starting to really like that programme

Decent views to be fair but seem to put it more down to their failings than our success. Never liked Reading, crap club, plastic ground, quiet fans. ts nice to put one over on them after they beat us regularly in the past.
