Cheers Panchero!

Opposing keepers keep having blinders against us which doesn’t help us.
Yep, and against all odds too as Hamer who’s pushing 38 hadn’t played for well over a year until yesterday, and last season he was just a backup keeper at the Sty. When I heard that, I lost my last bit of sympathy for Davies’s crap performance on Tuesday.

Sums it up 2 rank bad sides ....
And whats happened to the atmosphere at the lane ? It was once a scary place to visit .
It's been bad for a long time now, think it was alright for a spell during that Heckingbottom promotion season but the embarrassment of the last 2 premier league campaigns has extinguished any excitement for us to get back there again so the atmosphere is by default pretty flat.

Obviously it doesn't help that we've been dross this season but things will only improve when we as fans feel like we're genuinely building towards something that could be competitive in the top division.

Either that or things get so bad that our expectations get lowered

Spot on. The whole club feels like it's on a massive comedown from those early Wilder seasons. As you say, there is zero appetite for The Premier League with the current set up but we do expect to be competitive in this league. The fact we're staring at L1 has left everyone shell shocked.

We either get new owners who look like they have the money to make us competitive at the top level or we have a few years of becoming worse and worse before picking up again. There is nothing to get excited about at the moment for the club as a whole and hasn't really been since Covid. Even the Hecky promotion season was more about being able to keep the lights on rather than being optimistic about being in The Premier League

Indeed. Wonder if there'll be a similar malaise at Burnley/Leeds if they come down this season.

If we can stay up, then expectations next season will be playoffs at best, so maybe there can be some underdog spirit we can get behind.
