Or maybe we just shouldn't throw flares or smoke cannisters at opposition fans because there could be children there. Or adults trying to watch a game for that matter.

Naw it's all ok, top bantz. Wankers.

There were no Vale kids in that bottom corner, just their usual cretins foaming at the mouth who were throwing white flairs themselves.

They shouldn't be allowed to amass in that bottom corner right next to the away fans, it's like something from the 80's. There was loads of empty seats in the stand, it's totally baffling to me that they don't section it off in the corner but I've said that before.

The full match video shows the bomb. It hit some empty seats on the first row. Having said that, throwing things at other fans is just stupid, even more so when it's the top club, already promoted, campaigning for more tickets for our next away game, leading the game and then embarrassing themselves and the club with such moronic behaviour.

One of their fans climbed down a couple of rows and threw the bomb back to roughly the same area it came from.

I thought Oxford was a city of learning? The intelligence obviously hasn't reached the occupants of the football ground. Wilder has taken a poor, demoralised squad and without spending millions has turned it around completely. Critically he has taken players who were floundering under previous managers and he has revitalised their careers. Playing progressive attractive football, I think it is fair to say that this Sheffield United squad has blown the rest of the division away. CW has made brave team selections to rotate the squad and also shown tactical intelligence to change games where necessary.

Lets compare that with an Oxford team who currently sit in 10th place a mere 31 points behind Sheffield United. An Oxford team that have been comfortably beaten twice by Chris Wilder's side. Appleton has the reputation he thoroughly deserves whilst Chris Wilder has positively advanced and improved every club he has managed.

The oxford fans bitterness towards Chris Wilder appears to know no bounds, but quotes like the one above show a complete absence of footballing knowledge. Appleton or Wilder? I don't need to do a poll on here to know which one we would rather have. He is one of our own and he is the progressive intelligent manager who is taking us places!! UTB's

Thanks Again to Roygbiv, it is the highlight of my week reading those.
We stayed behind at Oxford and spoke to some seemingly intelligent genuine fans ,who informed us Appleton was a much better manager than Wilder and Alan Knill picks our team. Seemingly is a very important word.

It does seem as though Oxford fans, or at least a vocal minority, can never forgive Wilder for leaving them. They seem to be utilising some very strange tinted glasses to view him and Appleton.

Personally if they are happy with their man then good for them, we are definitely 'appeh with ours!!

I think it must be said that during the whole of the flare throwing, bottle throwing and whatever throwing that I take my hat of to the female refs assistant who fully concentrated on her job despite the flares being thrown close by. She did well and infront of goading fans of both teams. A round of applause is deserved.

Bergen, that's one of the best things I've ever seen on this message board! You've used your computer skills to demonstrate something other than a football formation. I was going to post something about the Vale fan having to climb over seats to get the smoke bomb to throw it back (which in itself was quite funny, whilst not condoning the throwing) and you've done it much more graphically. However, you've only done it in one direction, how about adding the return throw either in a different colour, or using a dotted line :-)

I've just read another Oxford fan on Twitter say Wilder has bought the league and that Appleton will go further than him.

Micheal Appleton . I laugh every time I think about them telling themselves he's a better manager than Wilder .

It's bizarre just how bitter they are.

Had Wilder stayed would they be eager for the footballing god Micheal Appleton to replace him? I think we already know the answer to that.

I've just posted a thread about a genuinely bizzare post on the Oxford forum. He clearly left in bitter circumstances so their fans find it hard to give him any credit. I get that to a degree but they just look ridiculous saying things like Appleton is "tomorrows man" and Wilder is old fashioned.

Their views on both managers are so at odds with how everybody else in the football world sees them. Appleton is a manager that had our fans screaming in fear when he was linked a few years back and rightly so given his record. He's done well at Oxford but has still spent the last two seasons trailing Wilder by a huge number of points.

Promotion last year, challenging for a play-off place most of this season and 10th in the league currently. I would suspect all this on a relatively small budget. I can understand why their fans are proud of his achievements.

I agree though to compare him to Chris Wilder would take the most rose-tinted of glasses.

The fact that they all turned up to ensure that Sheff Utd couldn’t take the **** makes me quite happy tbh.”

Eh? We did nothing but take the piss. I've never seen a sadder bunch of wankers get so wound up by our taunts. They were hilariously angry at us!

We don't need to take the piss, they live where they live, that's damning enough.

Cheers. I'm gonna look into it pre season. I dont want adverts all over the place and turn it into a shit Bladesmad. I'll let people know if I do it and get some feedback

Blaming it on BladesMad already? Come on Roy, you're better than that...
