Put it into perspective, they have been a top side and club for many years, one of the best teams in Europe, we have suddenly arrived in the PL from nowhere.
Last year they identified their main weakness as centre half and goal keeper so went out and spent 170 million on two players
They operate on a totally different level to us in every aspect of football, just like Man City so don’t be too despondent we are having a fabulous season, on to the next match, loving every minute of this season

If they play at 100% and we play at 100% they win comfortably. We were nowhere near our best on the ball, pretty poor to be fair. A lot of that was forced with their physicality. But also we were lazy in possession. I don't know if that was Liverpool at their best but it was waaaaay too good for what we put out on the night. No contest for them at all. But at least we didn't roll over and give silly goals away in a 6-0 🤷‍♂️

Also, the few times we had a sniff, VVD cleans it up. He's a cheat code.

TAA had a stinker against us twice this year. So we can be thankful for that at least 😂

Cheers Roy.
We looked very tired last night, we desperately need fresh legs this window, possibly our most important window of the last 10year.

Thank you Roy, United sounded flat listening on radio, seemed almost Warnockesk 06-07 and now having read comments here, confirmed.

Can't argue with the comments. A record number of passes for them.

First team can have a week's break and then we go again against the Hammers.

Liverpool are a different beast. They totally controlled the game without getting out of first gear.
The very early goal hurt us badly, if it's 30mins in and still 0-0, they have to start getting more men forward and risk being hit on the break.

We rode our luck but managed to keep the aggregate score with Liverpool to 3-0. That's respectable.

All pretty fair comments as far as I’m concerned , and can have no complaints about anything that was said
A team that has dropped 2 points all season
A team set up as admitted by Klopp to frustrate us and how we play
We played nowhere as good as we can ( or were let play ) by a much better team
I must admit I feared a hammering when the first one went in so early , but Hendo kept us in it at times ,
You could see that they kept trying to draw us out of our defensive shape to drop balls over and into the space left behind by our players out of position
2 of our hardest games away all season gone , and only 4 goals conceded I’d have taken that
Getting 15-18 points from our next 9 games will see us safe in our first season
Blades should remember teams are afraid of us now , and our non stop aggression and our football

Our workrate has been phenomenal all season.

We spent 70+% of a game a few days ago chasing after one of the best teams in the World.

We don't have a squad that allows for much / any rotation.

We were playing a team that might well stand out as one of the best English sides ever.

Our game plan went out of the window early on after an unfortunate error.

Let the team have a few days rest and recuperation and let's go again. No criticism at all from me.

We were playing a team that might well stand out as one of the best English sides ever.

I've been saying that for a few weeks. I think they're better than Man City at their peak, but also better than Arsenal's invincibles. Liverpool last lost a league game 1 year ago today - to Man City, that's 37 league games. They actually only lost that 1 game all season so that's 1 defeat in 58. If you extend it back further, they didn't lose their last 6 games the year before so they are currently on a run of 1 league defeat in 64 (SIXTY FOUR) games.

Arsenal and City never did that

Decent comments and you can't argue against them, magnanimous in victory is something I wouldn't have linked with Liverpool fans but there you are so fair play to them. Liverpool are looking like being the Premier league's stand out side of the new decade and were way too good for us on the night we know that but yes we can still be disappointed in how we played too, our turn to be the fans that say their team had an off day. As one said after the early goal it was always a damage limitation exercise for us.
At the halfway point in the season we had 29pts and we still have 29pts after getting the two hardest away fixtures out of the way as we go into the second half of the season. I don't see any reason why we can't pick up another 29pts by the end of the season. I am not going to worry about getting nothing from the last two games disappointed yes but worried no. I will not beat up individual players either, the team was below par as a whole last night but it really gets on my tits that some bring out the scapegoats to have a pop at. Comments like Lundstram returning to type and McBurnie's price tag really are uncalled for we win as a team we lose as a team. Some of our fans should remember where we were three and a half years back. Liverpool spent £170m on two players and our fans moan about a player who cost a few hundred thousand or our record signing at £20m which in Premier League terms is still shopping at poundstretchers, lets keep it real eh lads.

I think Wilder’s comments about the game and Liverpool have won him, and by extension us, a lot of good will in the red half of scouseland
I work with a couple of Liverpool season ticket holders. I won't be visiting their office for a couple of weeks (longer if I can avoid it) as I normally get greeted by some sort of written message when I arrive! Never normally post stuff like this but I did get a message from one of them this morning. It said:
"Chris Wilder's interview last night was class. It's why I like him. He's so honest."

Cheers Panchero!

I have to say that I don't agree that they never got out of second gear; they actually worked VERY hard to keep the ball away from us and to press our wing-backs and Norwood.

Klopp had seen the ways we could hurt them when we played them at BDTBL and set up to stop us getting the ball and playing our game. The fact that they can hit so fast on the break was the big issue for us as we couldn't risk getting too many players forward after the unfortunate first goal …… can't really beat him up for a slip tbh.

Add that to the fact that we were NOT our normal selves ……. no energy in midfield and inability to pass to our own players.

On reflection; I'm disappointed that we didn't play better but I'm capable of putting it into context.

Lets move on, support the players, Manager & Club ……. and see where the rest of the first season back in the premiership takes us.

If we compare the purchase price of the two squads for the matches against City & Liverpool ……. I don't feel so bad ;):oops:😏

UTB & FTP

Honest comments from the scousers😳.
The scousers have been really complimentary about us and especially wilder after his interview last night😀⚔️.
They love the work ethic that our Chris has instilled in the lads and his honesty. UTB ⚔️

I thought United put a right shift in. Those saying we didn’t turn up need to give Liverpool some credit. They’re the best team in the world and I thought they were immense.

Not sure what they expect from United but myself I thought they ran themselves into the ground.

Held Liverpool to 2-0, one after a slip by Baldock and nearly scored ourselves a couple of times.

Not bad I thought.

If any one who watched that game seriously believes that we had an off game and Liverpool were never out of first gear then you are watching the wrong sport and don't understand the one you are watching

It is a long, long time since a side outplayed us so convincingly, we have CW and AK to thank for our excellent last 4 seasons.

Liverpool cruised through the game last night, many other teams would have conceded 5 or 6.

Like it or not there will be a massive love in by the media when Liverpool lift the Premiership at the end of the season.

We had an off day against the world Champions and still only lost 2-0 !!!!!!
On a good day how good could this team be ?...…..

Ok so the lads got a poor start and then had a bad case of stage fright, don't panic it's all part of that learning curve.
Next match it's back to normal...…...

Liverpool played us at our own game, the difference being that they had the players to do it better. They harried and didn't give us time to get going. They worked very hard and to say that they strolled around in second gear is doing both them and us an injustice.
