“Get him f***ing out fans happy with a 3-2 defeat against sheff utd f*** off, any half decent team since Christmas has taken points off is sick of seeing same shite week in week out he’s done nothing to warrant the job get him out.”

Like runaway leaders Bristol City, away from home?

Like we heard owt from the home fans at the Keepmoat.

Donny had better players in a few departments and always looked the more threatening team in attack but for once the patient build up and Done/Davies were the difference between the two sides tonight.

Counted our blessings when he took Tyson off he looked class

Literally cannot believe Sheff Utd took all 6 points from us”

Poor chap. But I literally do not like the use of literally, when we clearly have literally beaten them twice. But there are some more balanced views in amongst the comments.

In the luck/fortunate debate...

“Not sure what’s wrong with the tactics when we’ve scored 2, hit the post and had 2 cleared off the line, away from home against a side with 15-20 points more than us.
They had 3 dangerous attacks and scored 3 goals”

We took our chances, they didn't, that makes us better than them last night by a goal, I believe.

I think what he's saying is that any decent team has taken points off Donny, not off us. His spelling and particularly his punctuation didn't help him make his point.

3-3 would have been a fair result.
donny where probebly the best team ive seen all season at the lane up there with rochdale and oldham.
But we dont get much luck so ill take the win :)

Ah yes you might be correct.

'any half decent team since Christmas has taken points off is sick of seeing same shite week in week out '- I thought he'd missed a word out here, 'any half decent team[...] has taken points off them.'

But re-reading it he has clearly put 'is' instead of 'us'.

I was glad when they took Tyson off, that pretty much killed their attack off, he would look a lot better player if he was playing in red and white stripes.................... onwards and upwards.

Cracking open end-to-end game that could have gone either way.

I can sort of understand why they think they were louder, noise doesn't travel well from BL Upper to the Kop (and vice versa). I think the lower tier is much better for boosting noise around the stadium, sometimes you can hardly hear some fans celebrate on that stand

Still, 1500 of them were lively, and they made much more noise than 10x as many home fans from Barnsley made on Saturday!

I hate to admit it but Donny deserved a lot more out of that game than they got we got lucky last night.
But i'll take it:D:D:D

We've been robbed many times after dominating games. I can't remember the last time we were put under the cosh a bit and came away with 3points a little fortuitously. Good win for us, we need to keep the momentum going as we head into the play-offs (hopefully)

Lady luck mostly. Also the last one was a pen 7 times out of 10.

Surely similar when a shot from Baxter hit their player on the arm in the first half? And how about their keeper handling the ball outside his box, which half the ground saw and shouted for? (second half, Matt Done chasing a ball, their defending trying to shield it as it rolled towards the box, so the keeper could grab it, but Done was closing in and the keeper appeared to pick it up before it crossed the line, his body language and the way he froze and quickly looked towards the linesman said it all)

Yep bit of joke that one

'Surprising actually there seems a few decent Sheffield United fans out there saying we deserved better.'

What is surprising is other fans are surprised by our generosity of comments. Reading these forums there cannot be a more fair set of fans than the Blades. They always give credit where credit is due.

'Embarrassing support' Over 20k. The last thing we can be accused of by anyone in any division is 'embarrassing support'

“Was that 2 penalties turned down were the Blades playing Basketball?”

Made me smile :)

A decent set of comments generally. Fair play to them.

And the game makes a lot more sense now in that apparently it was two dodgy defences (after Bob went off) up against each other.

'“Tonights support from the Rovers fans was fantastic. Home support was embarrassing tonight; much quieter than we are at the Keepmoat.”

Question. Do fans make much more noise at a Cup Final than a routine midweek home game?

Last night was a routine midweek home game for United. It was Donnie's Cup Final. Ergo, more than usual noise from the Donnie fans.

Maybe he forgot about the game at their ground.

So they will be playing us next season, haven't they got to get promoted first.

In the two games against them this season:

  • Both teams were awarded a penalty at home
  • They scored two belters away, to our one
  • They played against 10 men for a period of one game

I can certainly understand some frustration at us taking all six points, both games were there for the taking for them but they didn't make the most of the situations they had.

Best entertainment in a league game I've seen this season, and I am grateful to Donny for their attacking intent opening the game up for a change. Personally I'm a little mystified as to how MKD and PNE are battling over a promotion spot, yet Doncaster are falling short of the playoffs and Walsall could yet go down. Given that, I'm starting to be relieved that we're holding down this fifth place rather than our league position being determined by a dartboard like the rest of the division appears to be!

I have bladesplayer so found the incident on the full match video as I was curious given I sit at the opposite end so couldn't really tell. To be honest from watching it (and my Dad watching it too) I'm still not 100% sure on it. He went to grab it before it came to the line but the moment of contact is really difficult to work it..it kind of looks like the ball is sitting on the line but the margin is so close that the general consensus was "I don't know". Either way with how close it was to definitely crossing the line and the distance between him and Done he shouldn't have gone for it that early because of the risk involved.
