The result isn’t an issue for me, providing we’ve made the opposition work for it. We didn’t though, we rolled over in the second half and allowed them to take all 3 points. If we’d have carried the 1st half into the 2nd then we’d have been talking about a very good win for us.

I’m pleased we’re still 2nd but it could and should have been so much better.

FLDC are solid and dangerous on the break, they'll beat other good teams but there were 3 points available tonight that in the second half we just didn't seem to want.

The best thing about United at the moment is that we have a chance against pretty much anyone if we play our game, for whatever reason we decided to play someone else's game in the second half and it didn't come off at all.

I'll be fucked off until Stoke now. Two weeks of the world's worst forum threads waiting for the joy of watching the Blades give it a bloody good go and they do that in the second half haha

Its the most annoyed ive been this season because we undoubtedly would have won the game if we had simply carried on doing what we had in the first half. Whether it was a change of plan from the management or the players simply slacked off I don't know but it was much more to do with us than anything Derby did to why we lost and that's why people are so frustrated.

Its easier to accept defeat in a way when you are outclassed or just don't turn up but we had the game and threw it away with awful game management.

And I stand by what I posted last night. We're not 'poor' or 'unfit' but - given budgetary constraints - we've got to buy older players. Our chief playmaker (Duffy) can't put in a full 90 minutes. Coutts is 30, McGoldrick (30), Sharp (32), Basham (30), Clarke (33) etc. Given our superb first half last night, too many were running on empty as the second half went on.

We haven't become bad with a narrow defeat at Derby, but we definitely need firepower in January.
