I couldn't get excited about playing Crewe if it was a UEFA Champions League fixture.

Plenty of fans from "small clubs" have come to the Lane & had a party this season (& recent seasons more generally). Crewe's lot didn't. I think I only heard them once. Despite them being from just down the road & this being their "big day out".

So, by the same measure: Crewe fans - "some of the worst fans I've seen in Division Three".

Funny that. Wonder if they might be a bit down about how their club is faring right now...

Without wishing to get all Wendylike about it, Sheffield United playing in a meaningless 3rd Division game against Crewe, the outcome of which realistically means nothing to us is like Crewe playing a meaningless game against Worksop Town or Stocksbridge Park Steels

I'm sorry if you support Crewe you should be allowed to give it large about other fans. When you have to tolerate what they do generation after generation then they can tell us how shit they think our fans are.

I don't have anything against fans of smaller clubs like crewe etc. I admire them, and credit to them for supporting their hometown club when so many support the likes of Liverpool, man united, Chelsea etc.

Just makes me laugh when fans of visiting clubs don't realize it's hard for our fans to get excited about playing these clubs when they bring about 300 fans, not exactly going to stir up a riveting atmosphere.

Me too, both of those specifically were re-elected to the FL loads of times in the past and by those standards, they're performing towards the top end of expectations. That's less true of Crewe who were spoilt when Dario was there.

I don't begrudge them mocking us or being disappointed by a narrow defeat.
