Surprised by what a cheating team you are for a small tin pot club as well, acting above your station. Most your players made people like suarez look an innocent angel.

Begging for a pen any time you was near our box, assaulting anel before hand, trying to play the ref every opportunity, rolling around and over theatrical diving.

Cheating?

You spent 80 minutes time wasting.

We did join in some of your songs, just gave them a Bladey twist.

Credit to you, your stadium has one of the better atmospheres in the Championship.

Not as good as it used to be unfortunately. When we had 20,000 in there a few years ago, everyone was up for it. We've had another 5/6000 'new' fans and it's not quite as loud.

Cheers roy, these are on par with the s6 lot for being deluded. Wilder is right about the players only putting the effort to impress new manager rather than doing it all the time , i know there our feeder club but with that attitude i dont want any of them

The Ricoh is where football went to die. I avoid it these days after going three or four times in the past It's one of the most characterless grounds and areas to go in the Championship. It reminds me of the Premier League games/grounds. It's a shame they ever left Highfield Road.

I'm surprised they are so one eyed about the game. The Blades weren't great before the sending off but we looked like scoring every time we crossed the half way line. I think they'd have needed another two or three goals to get something against eleven men. The Blades were uncharacteristically poor at the back yesterday which was ultimately what undid us. Even with ten men it was elementary mistakes costing us. Souttar had a nightmare tbh. He looked like he could do with putting his feet up.He made more mistakes in that game than all the other games he's played for us combined.

I don't really have a problem with the sending off; the issue is more with the ref following the letter of the law in that instance and then ignoring it in other instances. He blew the whistle for five Coventry dives in the game and gave only two yellow cards. After the massive overreaction to the red card incident he also ignored the directive to book the Coventry players surrounding him. There were a few other things that were harder to spot: two potential elbow incidents (one for each team) and some of the rough house treatment dealt out to Anel that triggered him. I'd prefer to criticise him for things he did see, rather than the things he didn't however.

The referee added a minute to each halfs added time, despite nothing occurring in added time to justify it. Coventry almost scored during the mystery first half minute. I'm surprised that some of their fans think there was a lot of time wasting. There were a lot of breakages for subs and free kicks on both sides second half (30 seconds per sub stoppage) and one goal (30 seconds). Souza accounted for another minute due to going down with cramp. Apart from that there wasn't a lengthy stoppage second half. They got eight minutes when there should've been six or seven. If they think that was a particularly egregious example of time wasting they should watch one of our games at Bramall Lane 🤣🤣.

Had we had 11 on the field we would have breezed past you. Shame you couldn't play fair.

Anyway, keep up the good work and we might come back and nick some more of your players post season. Not that twat that got Anel sent off though - you can keep him. 😉

Absolutely spot on! Post of the Weekend!

God you talk absolute shite
You take talking shite to a whole new level

Would be interesting to hear you defend that time wasting. Maidstone United didn't time waste that much against us. It was incredible to watch. Borderline impressive.

We were dominant with 11. For a team that's top of the league with a significantly higher wage bill, you were disappointing.

Once Howard Web introduces the 6 seconds rule into the first team game after a successful trial in U23s football, that time wasting will be difficult for your keeper.

Change the record, for fuck's sake. Or go and bore your own forum.

We'd love to go back to Highfield Road but we love the Ricoh now. Lots of work has been done to improve attendances and atmospheres. They are near identical to the crowds you get at BL. The atmosphere, despite being a little worse this season is still good and better than many older grounds in this division.

The 7 minutes stoppage time was outrageous. The Sheffield United player was down for 2 and half minutes as the clock turned 90. That's before you factor in the average 30 seconds the keeper held the ball.

It was the worst time wasting I've seen since Worcester City came to the stadium in around 2014. It was genuinely impressive and something I'd love us to do in a similar position.

Another nowt set of comments from another nowt set of fans .

There’s not a team in the land that won’t slow time in that position. You can criticise the ref for not doing more. But any team dead on its feet and under constant pressure will do exactly the same.

United must have responded to the ref every time he said to hurry up. Was surprised Cooper wasn’t booked for taking a drink before a goal kick. But otherwise they walked the line well.

Don't have to defend something that never happened
You're the one defending your team of shit house cunts
Hope you do end up with lampard now and Shirley bassette wakes up with a pineapple wedged sideways up his arse

Thanks mate. I hope you chill out soon.

A point away from Home, down to 10 men for over half the game,2nd in the league and not the slightest bit disappointed.
Don’t like to see diving Cunts like your lot though it’s so anti football.I’d be embarrassed to support bafta nominees like you lot.
Onto bigger things….bring on Oxford

Which of the 7 minutes are you talking about ,which was added on

When Sky cut to the Blades fans it looked like a scene from Last of the Summer Wine. I don't think I saw anyone under sixty.
Are you implying over 60s aren't allowed to support a club ,I'd say good on the owduns who follow home and away through thick and thin which I am one .

I might be the only one but I enjoy opposition supporters coming on here airing their views. If you only listen to your own, you become quite blinkered. The 'View Froms' are great in themselves but I also like a bit of debate with opposition on here, it's healthy.

A concise 'view from the Birdwell Blades' after game 16 of 16:

Grim, grey, horrible dreary day. Wet through before getting through turnstile.
Coventry is not an away location that I look forward to. It's as miserable as the weather was.
OTT turnstile inspections.
Cov started well, looked a good side with strength in depth, well on top.
We scored out of nowhere, good first-touch passing move, easy football as it should be played.
They equalised.
Game opened up a bit.
We went in front again from nowhere, great finish. When Tyrese Campbell plays, I don't notice he's there, but then he just SCORES and I remember. 4 in 5? Always in the right place for a CF between the posts.
Anel reacted, immediately knew it was a red. Seen it since, defo a red, but the actions of the Coventry player were not 'in the spirit of the game' shall we say. In fact, the elbow on Anel whilst his full bodyweight falling onto him was fucking dangerous.
Half time head-scratching thinking 'why did Anel do that, silly bastard'
Clinging on second half
Souuuuuutaaarrrrrr (my hero) had an off day for me.
Usual death threats, throat slitting, 'outside' between the two sets of supporters in the corner
Blades fans quieter than usual. Early kick off, shit journey, wet on way to ground, shit parking, nowt to get excited about in Coventry all probably played a part. And an annoying drummer doing their best to 'drum up' a false atmosphere from the home support. To be fair they were decent, and a good turnout on a shit day.

Summary - good point in the end. We look thin on the ground. Cov look in a false position. Cov really don't like us but we really don't care (to quote Millwall), their number 7 looked good to me, their fella that wound Anel up is a prick. Still joint top. Somehow, still a good day out. I don't look forward to going back to Coventry, we seem to play them far too often.

I'm not far off that age bracket. Just that in my experience the older ones (not all) are less likely to be vocal than younger fans.

I'd say ,and I'm 63 and have been going home and away from 6 at home and 12 away ,that's bollox ,most younguns leave their voices on the concourse or trap 2 of the bogs

Our wage bill will be higher. I think you'd be surprised by it though. The same with Luton's. We have a 25 man squad. Eight are academy graduates. Ten others signed Championship contracts. Most of our highest earners left last or this summer and a huge amount has come in from player sales that has subsidised all our fees and loan wages. Coventry and similar clubs should be pointing at United and saying we should finish above them due to having less turmoil, bigger more experienced squads and unusually similar budgets. Leeds and Burnley are a different ball game.
