I knew the ground had large standing terraces, but do you know if it had any seating at all?
The three sides in that photograph don't appear to have any, so I'm assuming if there was any it must have been on the west side.

When I went there in December 1978, there was no seats at all in the East Terrace but it looked crumbling and uneven.

The last time I was there would have been 1969 or 70 Charlton v Millwall pre-season the ground didn't have many seats at all. It was one of those grounds where you could walk all the way round to get behind the goal your team was attacking. That east terrace was huge, Leeds Rd Huddersfield also had a big side terrace as did Turf Moor but not on that scale. Charlton's fan base came from SE2 places like Woolwich, Plumstead, Abbeywood and along the rail line out to Dartford.
