Cheers you weirdo, that read deserves another beer. And this comment tops the lot:

"It was a reality check because Sheffield United are not a good side. What really worries me is that SU are not a good side and we lost to a very poor today. In May we’ll see who is the better off at the end of the season"..

Do you have a link to that message or tweet? We need to get him medical attention immediately, after we've ridiculed him obviously.

More fair and complimentary than I expected really. Many fans will only give begrudging praise after a close victory or loss, but when the dominance is this clear they have no choice but to call it like it is, to shield their own team from heavy criticism if nothing else.

Wow! We're we that good today?

The best word to describe today is controlled. We controlled everything about the game, from start to finish.

Granted an early goal will always help with that but we got that early goal because of how well we started.

I think thst it’s pretty obvious again that some of the comments are aimed directly at Roy’s ‘View From’ rather than their own fans. Those apart, it’s the most complementary they’ve ever been.

One day she will leave Bolton and journey to a place called the 21st Century . I`m sure she will be very happy there living amongst human beings.
I wish she would but her husband is Bolton born and bred and won't even consider moving :(

Yeh like deliberately calling us “Sheffield” because they know it pisses us off (well normally it would but not after a 0-3 away win). I thought the same. Petty bastards.

well at 90% were gracious knew when they had been beaten by the better team like we had to when we got battered by Middlesbrough. other 10% well everyplace has their idiots

“Not sure that was a fair contest from the off what with Sheffield United having a weeks rest compared to our game in midweek.”

rubbish excuse we beat qpr away from home after we had played 3 games in a week after Swansea & Middlesbrough

view from sheffield
had the good fortune to be diverted through bolton due to a crash on the m61.. my enduring thought was ‘how many chicken takeaways can a place comfortably sustain?’

Sweet win today.

Gloves in August perfectly acceptable

Thanks panchero.

This business about the gloves that Leon wore, maybe they are to stop the opposition grabbing his hand/arm and slowing /turning him.

The England rugby team started wearing 'Teflon' skin tight shirts for that reason. Like sports bra's we may have to get used to it.

I always wondered if he just wants to cover his tattoos up because personal things like tattoos are the kind of thing that some of the really nasty twats for the opposition might use to get on your tits in a competitive game.

He doesn't always wear the sleeves though, but he's worn them less in friendlies I think.

Either that or he's just nesh, which is probably the most likely answer.

There's a theory that a dog's owner starts to resemble his dog. Maybe Phil Parkinson is starting to resemble the Bolton fans? Imagine his post-match talk:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Main question seems to be are Sheffield that good or are we just that bad?” (Funny how Bolton weren't that bad in getting to third place. But then the Blades came to town).

“Not sure that was a fair contest from the off what with Sheffield United having a weeks rest compared to our game in midweek.” (See 'Straws'. 'Grasping'.)

“It was a reality check because Sheffield United are not a good side. (Did you get that? No?) What really worries me is that SU are not a good side and we lost to a very poor (!) today. In May we’ll see who is the better off at the end of the season” (We certainly will, Stanley.)

"they reminded me of Wolves last season, only with smaller and quieter support.” (Blades fans noise drowned out by the Bolton tifosi? All 12,870 of them? We got far more for a pre-season friendly.)

“Big congrats to Sheff Utd on beating a big club away from home in the league” (Bolton aren't even big in Bolton)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And finally, fuck the fact that United have played Bolton off the park and John Fleck's goal for Sheffield United's third goal ended a sequence of 16 uninterrupted passes, involving nine of their 10 outfield players. No Championship goal this season has had a longer build-up. What really lost us the game today?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“We were dreadful but Leon Clarke wearing gloves in August should dock them points.”

“The worst thing about today and the one thing I cant forgive or get my head around was the fact that Leon Clarke was wearing gloves! (Bloody hell! But wait!) He had long sleeves on too” :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So we come away from the University of Bolton Stadium (is it in the Russell Group?) leaving a bunch of whining, embittered bastards (and who wouldn't be embittered, living in Bolton?) and three points. Are they surprised? They finished 14 points behind us in 16/17. Stayed up last season by two points and next season will probably meet their near neighbours - and similar in terms of size and importance - Rochdale, Accrington and Fleetwood in Division One. Back where they belong.

I was umming and aahhing about giving you a like for your informative and bang on the money observational post, then I also saw reference material within your post to the great Stanley Laurel and Oliver Hardy....and you now get a double like...!

You can just tell their comments about us outclassing them and being very good are uttered through clenched grinding teeth as they seeth with anger and jealousy. They had started getting silly giddy about their position in an embryonic football season table, and that they were going to do something big this season, then United arrived and they were very quickly and firmly put back in their box. Love it.

I occasionally have to work with a Bolton fan and we spoke on Friday. He was giving it the big un as usual about how they were gunna give us a hiding....I just replied 'just enjoy the footballing masterclass that you are about to be treated too from SUFC'. Seems one of us called it right....and no, i havent heard a peep out of him yet ;)

P.s. I have to fly out of the country later this week with work and the deluded Bolton dickhead is to be on the same flight. I bet he's very very quiet...as I sit there as smug as a meaty sausage.
