What I meant was that he knowingly and willingly wrote off the debt, that's the unusual thing. I'm sure there are many examples of people who've got into football and ended up losing money, without being a willing participant in their own financial loss.

I misread your post and understood you meant people who'd lost a fortune in football.

Writing off £175 'invested' in BWFC was a great gesture but then again, it was hardly going to be repaid, was it?

I'm not sure he had much choice. He wasn't prepared to continue to finance their losses. So he either stopped and they went straight into admin - he loses most of his money and so do all their other debtors including local businesses etc or he finds someone prepared to take on the current losses and writes off the debt. He just seemed to let the situation get out of hand.

I think the biggest loser was probably Mark Goldberg with Palace.
