Does the January transfer window allow us to swap fans ?
I’d rather have ( most all) of these folk supporting SUFC than the (many) whinging whining booing fuck wits that currently populate (much of) Bramall Lane
Guess the (usual) challenge. would remain - why the fuck would they want to be associated with us 🤔

Thanks Roy.

“To me many of these so called ‘big’ clubs are quite similar in terms of how their fans seem to behave.
Walking up to the ground yesterday was a pretty awesome sight I thought. A real traditional looking ground with fans swarming around and then you step inside…
The stands pretty full (much like forest)… They have their opening ‘introductory’ sing along (Mull of Kintyre at Forest, Annie’s Song yesterday) and then it’s mainly “oooooooh” “aaaaargh” “ohhhhhhh” from the home support and little more.
It’s kind of flat and spectator-like and it all feels a bit like the fans (much like the players) are just kind of going through the motions.
Their side wasn’t terrible yesterday, they got in behind us, moved well and created chances. They simply couldn’t finish their chances … Of course we should take some credit defensively, but you do wonder at times whether these big, expectant and often fairly unforgiving crowds have a negative impact on the players and sap their confidence…
I think too many clubs seem to think that having large home attendances should come with an automatic right to success and yet the nature of their crowd along with the expectancy within the club is actually playing a big part in their lack of success.”

People have short memories, if they had a season like we did last season they wouldnt be as noisy either. Dont think they realise how much it affected our fans.

“Critch said the long kick for the goal was something they talked about before the game as they push up quickly.”

We keep getting caught out by this and opposing clubs are specifically using this tactic against us. I’m no coach but surely it’s something we can prepare for in training?
Since the no interfering with play offside rule was introduced about 15 years ago I have always said that playing the offside trap is much riskier

Decent comments.. They know it was a smash n grab..

Slav better get his arse in gear though or get to the job centre, the convos I've had with blades after the match says he's on really thin ice..

Ask yourself.... Is this better than Hecky?

Hint: up to now.. No it isn't.

I see what you're saying but I don't necessarily think away fans see our performances with clearer eyes than we do.

A Blackpool fan might see a match yesterday which they won against the odds due to a goal out of nothing for them and several missed chances for us.

However we see United every week and we know it's a repeated pattern of forwards who can't finish a bag of chips, piss weak defending at crucial moments and a tendency to finish games very poorly.

Their assertions that they've just beaten one of the best sides on the league are simply not backed up by the table or our results thus far. We see us every week and know why we're in the bottom half.
Sorry I have to disagree, we do possess a striker who can certainly finish a bag of chips.

Were they the booing brigade? If so I hope they stay away and let Slav build this team.

I can’t disagree with most of what they said. Some slick play by us which should end with the ball hammered past their keeper but never did. Excellent finish from them. Excellent support from their fans. sloppy defending . Players seemed to run out of gas. It could of been worse .
As a Blade I never feel entitled, but I think the lack of atmosphere stems from us expecting to lose every home game having played ok but never really troubled the opposition keeper. We know we can do better, or is that wish we could do better.

"The Sheffield fans think they are so entitled to win every game"

Bizarre. Any run of two games without a win and 90% of our fans can't see where our next point is coming from, me included. I can see now why the press label Blackpool as "Britain's Drugs Capital" if that's what they took away from this.

I always console myself on days like yesterday with something that was said to me when I was still playing youth cricket and got myself out. "Aye, lad" my old man would say "but think of the joy you've given to the bowler"

It didn't help that they had a player of that name.

Not really on about the offside trap. More like wake the fuck up and be alert to a hoof over the top.

In fairness, half this forum thought we'd walk the league.
It was more than half and I dunno what they based it on.
As Pompey so perceptively put it , we are so infected by the virus known as 'Wilderball19' that we are only just managing to change from a team in free fall to one in transition.
Our viral load of utterly crap Wilder signings means that our inability to put away decent chances and our immunity from soft goals is badly compromised.
Try to avoid relegation whilst we turn over a squad which has 6 strikers who can't bury a chance , a mentally shot piss-weak midfield & 2 CBs that my Grandma could bully.

Dont take this the wrong way brother, decent lads, lads that put thier life second to watching us and travel every weekend, they don't see it, I don't see it at the minute.

Note: the prince hasn't got a couple of years, might sound potty but it's a promotion push slav signed up for.. Weather you trust in slav is another thing, he gets his arse in gear sharpish or princey boy boots him, nothing you can say will change that.

(Thankfully) I don’t go to the match because of the folk that (coincidentally) attend the same venue at the same time - bit like life in general
So you are a hermit with a keyboard who doesn't like anybody ?
If you are the future if the human race we'll all be going to hell in a handcart.

Aye
Summat like that:
I used to go to Aldi to discuss bovine contributions to global warming & & the morality of milk production for human consumption; now I just buy almond milk
I used to go to work to discuss how there is no longer any concept of ‘public service’ within the workforce ; now, I’m retired
I used to go to gigs to experience the thrill of live music & artists interacting with their audience; now I watch youtube
I used to go to t’ale house because I enjoy the ‘craic’; now I understand & accept Brexit is “done”, Trump was (is) right & Ive been microchipped at the behest of a multi billionaire he’ll bent on world domination
I used go walking down the beach with the dog but the selfish bastard got arthritis & then ‘pegged’ it
I used to go to the cinema to witness the imagination awe & wonder of folk cramming copious quantities of saturated fat & sugar into their gullet but now just wait for someone on a website to inform me how good / bad / indifferent the cinematography on “Dune” is
I used to attend medical appointments in an endeavour to maintain a modicum of health but now telephone to ascertain what position I am in the queue
I never used to go to the theatre because I don’t understand it & think it’s ‘posh’
I used to travel on the road to Hell but didn’t possess a handcart & realised I was heading to Blackpool
I used to have an opinion but now just wait some other (non - hermit) with a keyboard to tell me what opinion I can have

How about you?

Very fair points, no ones going to deny we have our issues in the squad.

I think it's very important the club remembers that we are considered one of the best clubs in the league, that should put us on the front foot mentally when walking out that tunnel.
