Neither team were great. As the away team I will take that as a decent win, with 2 very well taken goals.

And maybe we have found our midfield combination now, because Philips, Peck and Arblaster looked pretty good in the 2nd half. Obviously we will need to get 70+ minutes from them all, from now on.

Oh and they were right about their keeper, he made Adam Davies look like Gordon Banks, that 3rd one we nearly scored when he let the ball trickle past his ankle before the defender cleared off the line would have been one of the softest goals I’d ever seen.

You had to feel for Blackburn tonight, said absolutely fucking nobody.

I don't think Blackburn deserved anything, even the derogatory Kevin Gallagher (i think that's who it was) on the BBC Lancs comms was quite positive about the way we played.

Bottom line for Rovers is that they don't have the squad depth, we did last night. Flat track bullying, but we beat what was in front of us.

The 18 shots on target and the good saves from Cooper don't tell the full story. They had some chances, they play an attacking way, but they don't have a side for 90 mins, they played in spells of 10-15 mins. Those fullback / wing backs would be decent for us and they have some good players although a lot of their shooting was way off last night.

We made our own problems at times, but we were also able to change up the gear when we needed.

I think we must be Blackburn's bogey team they must hate playing us. A repeat of the previous cup game really let's not forget they had no recognised strikers last night so you can see why they had 18 or more shots but only put one in. Us on the other hand 2 shots and 2 goals all very much against the run of play. We were better 2nd half but still horrible to watch Blackburn very poor where it mattered up front and in defence they might struggle this term.

Had we been able to keep the ball better, we wouldn't have caused ourselves so many issues in the first half. Was nice to see the piggy getting removed from the home end, added to the atmosphere on the away end. Despite the clear lack of numbers on the away end, one positive was that it was easier to get a pie & pint lol

Can I play that game? Ok, well if we had a RB who could actually defend, I doubt they create half of the chances they did, and if we had another actual winger/AM in the squad, I think we create more and score at least 1 more goal.

I'm afraid we're going to see lots of these comments this season, I'm just hoping we sneak enough wins to keep us up by February/march !!
Then I hope we start reorganising the whole attitude about recruitment and playing style.
I've made it known my thoughts about wilder that he should have been replaced in may ( and no I've got no suggestions about who could have replaced him )
Whilst he's here I'll grudgingly support him despite the horrible football we're currently playing. Is he a legend "Yes" but his status is dropping every week to the point the fans are going to turn on him . ( not something I would ever want to see)
