Looks like Freeman made the cross, but i'll stand corrected......

Looking back I'm not sure it was Freeman. Who ever it was take a bow lad!

O'Shea
You can see Freeman getting into the box to poach if Billy doesn't (as if)

Great shape on the cross. Keeper no chance of collecting. Good job Hanson's hands are invisible ;)

Agreed - can see Freeman running into the box as the cross goes in. Hanson all over the back of the defender but he doesn't appeal the goal :)

In Wilder we must believe , a few doubters and I was one when we bought the big lad from Bradford , appears to be ideal partner for Captain Blade, great old fashioned goal, far post knock back for Billy, great result always gonna be a tricky game.
Replacing a defender with a striker and then giving two players their debut in the last quarter says everything about Wilder's confidence in his own ability and his players.

It also shows just how much he wants to win every single game home and away. Such a refreshing change from what's gone before (mentioning no names ;) )

Great backpost header from the large gentleman. If he does the same a couple of times a game then I'm sure we will benefit from it more often than not.

As it looked a deliberate headed pass from Hanson it's even more of a special goal. To know Sharp would be exactly at the back post is fantastic, well done the big fella, and well done Bill for such brilliant instincts, you cannot teach that sort of positional play, what a time to score too! And a clean sheet plus Scunny lost, what a team, what a day!

I liked Hanson's movement to the backpost as the cross was being lined up, getting away from the centre halves and ready to attack the ball, competing with their right back instead. As it took some time before the cross came in it was tactically "correct" for O'Shea to aim for the back post, as defenders tend to get drawn towards the ball/first post in those situations. Sharp also shows good anticipation in moving towards the first post and being fully switched on, even as Hanson heads it back. A lot of strikers in Sharp's position would just conclude the cross didn't go to them and switch off. I think we saw the value of experience, and also both strikers' best attributes on that goal.

That was precisely what you have in mind when you sign Hanson, and when you pair him with Sharp.

He wins the header, Billy gets on the end of it to score.

What a fantastic moment it was. One of the best of the season for sure. Think I hurt my neck celebrating.... oh well.

In the first half against Wimbledon Hanson had a header in a similar position but went for goal instead of putting Billy in.

Hopefully it signals the beginning of a productive partnership
