Klopp officially gone on record that he wants a replay 😂😂😂

The refs and VAR should have their mic's turned on during the process and the images should be shown on screen inside the stadiums.
This is done in Cricket and Rugby, why not football?

There is some rule from the International Football Association Board (IFAB) that forbids the broadcast of the communication of the referee either in the stadium or on TV. The rule would have to be changed globally before the PL could do anything about it and the IFAB have no plans to change this. Someone mentioned it on the radio this morning.

If ever there was a game that should have been replaced given the ramifications at the bottom of the table and PL status then it should have been our match v Villa, but that never happened, nor should this.
yes that cost an innocent club millions in prem money being relegated when it should have been villa

Things like this with the liverpool club wanting a replay is the sort of thing that gets fans of other clubs backs up .Here we have a big powerful club demanding this and that because a decision has gone against them . Whether they get it or not is by the way ,it's the fact they think they are entitled to it were as other clubs who every weekend get diabolical decisions have to live with it . Even the ref and the VAR assistant have had their next job taken off them where as other clubs that kick up about officials usually get fined loads of money and warned about their future conduct. Their complaints get thrown in the bin and they have to live with it no matter how serious financially a bad decision could cost a club . This is a typical example why so many fans of lesser clubs fear there is bias in the prem or even some think it could be corrupt. Not saying it is but understand why others think it is .

Unprecedented? I thought it was human error. Refs make wrong decisions every week.
Anyone remember Hull away in the cup where the ref apologised afterwards?

There are no images from Villa Park. The system wasn't working, either because it failed or because they didn't switch it on.

That's because a) the audio is immediately available and b) the images are shared for the on field officials to make the decision. Neither of those happens consistently with football.
That's my point.

Premier League should agree to Liverpool demands subject to the condition that Liverpool agree that any game in future they win, if the opposing Team has a major decision go against them in the game that is proven to subsequently be incorrect , then Liverpool agree the game is therefore replayed also.

Okay, devil's advocate:

Having watched the video of the VAR commentary, part of the problem, other than the VAR being on another planet, is that the check was so rushed and no proper communication took place between ref and VAR (only the delay operator had a clue what was going on).

One of the big recurring criticisms VAR got as soon as it was introduced was the lengthy delays caused by VAR checks. It was ruining the flow of games, preventing fans from being able to properly celebrate goals etc. and so VAR was encouraged to speed up checks. The decision above is a consequence of that. The VAR is so hellbent on checking it quickly, he doesn't take any time to actually confirm what the fuck the onfield decision was. If they'd spent as long on it as they did in the first Wilder prem season, that goal would be given.

One of the reasons VAR works in other sports is because they either stop the clock or there is no clock at all. They can take as long as it takes to get the correct decision.

It’s ridiculous that football is still timed using the referee’s watch, which no one else has sight of! Just have a bloke in the stands that stops the clock for injuries and VAR, then there won’t be panic over delays and making sure that teams aren’t cheated out of added time.

I was holding my breath at the end when there was a VAR check for a penalty…….. thank goodness we were playing Brentford and not MU etc

Was.there quick penalty check at the end? The ref seemed to take a while to blow for full-time when the ball was out of play?

That was a straight red all day long. You could see Vinis leg bend with the impact just above the ankle. What’s the point of a system like var if it looks at an incident like that & doesn’t give a red? The only logical answer is that the system is either inept or corrupt…. Or both!

If Stuart Atwell had seen the Souza foul in slow motion, I expect he’d have upgraded the yellow to a red. There didn’t look much in it in real time.

It’s the VAR at fault. If they think that such a challenge is worthy of just a booking, they’re in the wrong job, if, on the other hand, they don't like to contradict the on field ref, they’re in the wrong job.

All he had to do, was let Atwell see it in slow motion on the pitch side monitor, whys that a big deal?

Was that when they were checking for handball on Trusty off the corner ?

Also what was all that about just before the free kick pointing at the Brentford GK something behind the net. You saw a brief glimpse of him running behind the net with a ball did another ball get thrown on the pitch ?

Apparently there was a ball in the net which the ref told the goalkeeper to move.

Can’t wait for Dermot Gallagher and Donny Howard to come on and tell us why VAR didn’t upgrade the ankle breaker to a red. Pair of wankers.

“Sheffield United? They ain’t got no cash, so we didn’t bother making much effort. We were celebrating the windfall our mates had from Klopp”

How can anyone stay on the pitch after that? Intentional leg breaker. Shocking.
Oh it's on a SU player. Nothing to see here. Bloke should be arrested never mind only getting a yellow card. Zero chance one of our players gets away with that.
It's a red yes but forget that shite, are you claiming Brentford get decisions over what we do, little old punching way above there weight Brentford, get a grip ffs. It's a poor decision from var, get over it, I can't stand this "it only happens to us shit" it's quite frankly pathetic.

yet again another unbelievable non decision by var officials red card every day of the week and once again if a top 6 player had got that challenge it would have been an automatic red card didnt think the 2 disgraceful decisions against liverpool could be beaten but this one tops those 2 hang your heads in shame var

Behind the net..about half a foot from the advertisement boards. A bit daft if you ask me, Considering he should have blown for full time as soon as the ball was kicked anyway.
