Yeah didn’t like the chant.

Reminded me of the “Bigger than a bread bin” scene from The Office.

It’s one of those situations you find where people say “we’ve always called our matey chalky and he likes it, don’t be offended on his behalf”.

He may be fine with it, he may not be but thinks it’s better to say nothing - black people in football are usually accused of “having a bad attitude” if they stick their head above the parapet.

….and even if he is fine with it other black people in the crowd might not be.

Doesn’t mean a complete sanitisation of football crowds or ridiculous equivalence needs to be drawn. We are all grown ups and we can work out where the line is.

A big protest by Herta Berlin fans away at Bochum last night. I think the game was stopped briefly. But mainly due to protest banners being draped over exit gangways. Central to the protest was the fact that Bochum were charging €20 for standing tickets.
